What is everyone's thoughts on the current GFS, GFS Para, and Canadian models today? All three are showing snow within the next week and all three are showing snow total possibilities. The reason I'm asking is because no one, not even Aldrich is talking about it.

MORNING...

SCATTERED LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE AREA

PLATEAU.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio and other local media for further
details or updates.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting, everyone. My life has been hectic recently. As far as tomorrow into Monday, this is pretty much going to be a typical clipper system where higher elevated areas will see good snow (2-4 inches), while the lower elevations see minor accumulations (dusting to 1 inch).

Also, this will mainly be a Central/Northern valley, Plateau, and Mountains event. The southern valley (Chattanooga, Cleveland, Athens, ect) won't see any snow accumulation.

I'm mentioning it since we are within 6 days of it but Vk you catch the storm track for next Friday on the GFS last night? Unfortunately the GFS has lost it today so hopefully it picks it back up.
The Canadian is still showing it but has the 32° line above Tennessee while both GFS models has the 32° line down to the gulf.

I did. I'm going to wait a couple more days until I start posting about it.

~Severe Weather Alert~

Everyone in East Tennessee has a slight risk for Severe thunderstorms late afternoon into the evening hours. The Severe threat is conditional, as it is uncertain whether there will be a break in the cloud cover during the day or not. If there is, then we'll see some scattered storms. If not, then we may not see any severe storms.

Primary risks:

1. Large hail up to Half Dollar size.
2. Damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
3. A brief Tornado can't be ruled out, as the storm mode will be supercells.

~VK's Severe Weather Discussion~

This is something new that I'll do whenever there is a decent threat for Severe weather. In these, I'll give my observations and what I think will occur.

With round one moving east of us, round 2 will reach the valley between 8 and 10. This next round will be linear, so damaging straight line winds in excess of 60 mph will be the primary threat, with hail up to quarter size also possible. As with most lines, the Tornado threat is very low, but cannot rule out a brief spin up.

Update:

It appears that these storms aren't reaching severe levels at this time. There will still be gusty winds and small hail with these storms.

this doesnt look good --- explosive T storms
