Election Night (or days, or weeks, or whatever) 2022

Voting yes on Amendment 3 meant you want to remove the language that allows slavery and indentured servitude for inmates from the state constitution. Inmates can still work, but the state can't force them to do so now.
Oh.. well I think they should work 😂 so it was aboit making people in jail work.. not slavery 😂

The GA Senate race especially saddens me. How in the hell is that what you have to choose from? The Independent candidate could be a stalk of celery and should garner at least 33% of the vote over those 2.
I had a long talk with my kids about politics after voting the other day, because of this race. Told them it was sad that people had to choose between the lesser of two people, instead of voting for someone you believe in. Voting 3rd person is almost useless, but I do it a lot because of how stuff like this is your choice.

Inmates already can, and do, get paid to work. Changing the language meant the state can't force inmates into indentured servitude.
They get very little. This is to pave the way for minimum wage. No one has or will be forced into indentured servitude

You are going to have to get a lot of states to change their counting rules. Many won't start counting early/absentee votes until polls close tonight, which is rather silly.
Whether warranted or not that will always lend itself to people wondering if that’s so someone can know how many votes are needed to change the results.

I voted for a Libertarian if the choice was there - a surprisingly high # of races. Got keep them with ballot access

I don't think we will ever see a minimum wage type deal for inmates in Tennessee. This amendment is one of those rare things in Tennessee that has overwhelming bipartisan support.

Well, I mean they can and do already work. It just means the state can't force them to do it now.
I don’t think that was really fair, because if they plainly stated it like ‘should people in jail work..yes or no, people would say yes lol.. jail is punishment and what else are they going to do? People saying it’s a vote on slavery are being dishonest imo..at the minimum misleading

The amendments were super annoying voting.. terrible legalese and I didn’t understand them.. I tried to crash read them lol.. my Dad said they were trying to confuse everyone on purpose lol (oh, well, my fault for not being prepared)

Lawyers and politicians can't state the obvious. If they were doing football scores, it would take you a week to figure out who won the game.
