Election Night (or days, or weeks, or whatever) 2022

49-48 means AZ, GA, and NV aren't called

48-48 means AK, AZ, GA, and NV aren't called.

Most outlets are calling AK for the Republicans even if they aren't calling it for a specific candidate.
Which "outlets" aren't calling AK for the Republicans is what I'd like to know?

Nobody can whiff on an absolute slam dunk election cycle like the Republican Party. It's just mind-blowing how they manage to consistently under-perform.

It's really about expectations. Remember how at the end of every season after an easy post Bama schedule we used to walk over all the teams left (with KY and Vandy always being two - and not necessarily the easiest); you get to season's end and everybody is proclaiming the Vols will destroy everybody the next year? That's the way the "big red wave" was going to roll - everybody hated biden and all he stands for.

The problem with that thought is dems (and usually republicans) have been electing the same people to congress time after time, and that's the way it will continue. Too many people mixed thoughts of national politics and forgot electing members of congress is local and state rather than national. We might despise Pelosi, for example, but there's a reason her flock keep electing her - and it has nothing to do with who sits in the WH. You'd think "political analysts" would be smarter by now - never forget the first four letters of the word "analyze" and it's variants.

The GOP, nationally, has no path forward until they resolve their internal conflicts. Leadership doesnt match the base and doesnt want to.

The GOP is not a solidified party. They may vote almost as a bloc against what the dems are pushing, but that's as cohesive as it gets. The GOP as an entity has no balls, and pretty much never has. The other party - the one of peace, love, and tolerance would generally make Hitler envious.

Nominating morons seems to work for the dems. I guess the people that vote for them can identify with them.

It's the diversity thing in play. Dems have gathered a wide array of societal misfits in the big tent and run the whackos for office ... and appoint others. If you criticize the thoughts of the weird, then it's viewed as one or another form of bigotry because by extension you are attacking the person's thoughts and values ... therefore, the person. It's virtually impossible then to argue someone is wrong because by extension you are attacking the person and his/her/its diversity. They don't even hide it. Remember the Sotomayor comments about "wise Latina" and the richness of her experiences as a qualification for the SC?

How can all of these states still be counting a full day after? Tennessee always has our stuff done on time and nobody works at our polling districts but grannies and church ladies lol… get the lead out, or do things more efficiently, straggle states lol

We're still counting but it's not close enough to where they can't predict the winner with confidence.

Because I have always enjoyed crow eating as a spectator sport.

But you have said, especially for the past couple of years, that Fox is the purveyor of misinformation and propaganda. You also have said they just lie. So by your standard, what you posted was a lie. You clowned yourself and didn’t even know it. Must have been distracted by your three masks you alway wear.

It just seems like some other states just drag their feet and can’t do it efficiently… dang! They need to come up with a plan of correction 😂

Killing? Ok.

I agree. But numbers suggest he would be the nominee. And we can all watch him lose to Biden again.

So who is the GOP going to run. There's not a single GOP political figure I would willingly vote for - not one - except maybe Newt Gingrich, and we all know that's not happening. Trump did an end run and grabbed the nomination. For the record, I despise Trump and always have; he is unfit to be president, BUT I did vote for him twice because he wasn't what the dems were serving up and he wasn't a GOP hack. I'll guarantee you from the fact that Trump won that I'm not the only person with that particular mindset. So who will the GOP find that will entice non-GOP voters to the polls? It's important because the GOP doesn't have the numbers to go it alone. As far as fiscal conservatism is concerned, it's dead and was when the first guy started buying votes by bringing home the bacon - just took a while for somebody to figure out how emptying the treasury in a democracy could still work in a republic.
