Hard labor for the incarcerated is hardly slavery. It's completely reasonable that some rights are forfeited when serving time for criminal offenses. Coupled with some life changing training for the outside. Otherwise you perpetuate the same gang behavior that got them there. THey just get better at it.

Hopefully what happens is that this results in them being stuck in their cells for 23 hours/day instead of getting out to do some work. F 'em. They are in jail for a reason. It ain't supposed to be a vacation.

Hey, don't knock ketchup on well done steak. When I was growing up, my mother would cook steak for dinner occasionally. Her culinary skills were to crank a frying pan up on high, place steaks in the pan and cook until they looked like shoe leather. Ketchup was the only condiment available to make them edible.

At the beginning of the day and leading up to the election I said Republicans by +10 in the House and a tie in the Senate. I still think that's the case. The democrats didn't have as many senate seats to defend but they will next time.

I believe we are moving closer and closer to polar saturation. Where the two parties have larger bases of people who may not like what their own party represents but absolutely won't consider the alternatives ... like the yellow dogs are back The people in the middle are becoming fewer and are aligning more with one party through dislike of the other's politics. For that reason it was always difficult to see a big red surge coming ... just didn't make sense. For example, I'm not one or the other and never have been; but there's now way in hell I'm going to vote for a dem and their perverse platform as things stand, and I don't see that clown show ever changing for the better.

I do. Heck, I had a local candidate for juvenile court judge get pissed off at me because I mentioned her pending criminal case on facebook. She's since been convicted of 2 felonies.
