Election Night (or days, or weeks, or whatever) 2022

Both sides need to move away from their extremes and more toward the middle.

They should, but the left side is feeding their extreme, so a move by the right toward the middle is no compromise; it's surrender.

There was going to be divided government, regardless. But, for a number of reasons, the country is not in the midst of some massive shift to the GOP many expected.

The debate is over the reasons:

Weak individual GOP candidates in key races;
Trump fatigue;
Economic anxiety is real but not felt to be the fault of one party;
Dem get out the vote effective;
Demographics continue to change and to create permanent Dem shift;
Abortion rights a key to female voting;
And on and on.

Not really. Voters have always elected their congressional representatives (including senators) for a reason having far more to do with a local than a national basis. That's generally reflective of party lines. One generation teaches the next - politics is often a passed down thing or learned from peers; we aren't a very reflective society - one that looks, listens, and learns. Those tribal characteristics are going to be the dominant reason a group selects a "representative", and that's why they elect the same person again and again. It's only when the rep really screws the pooch or when the rep retires (or dies) that there might be a weakening of the guard - and an honest look at a new guy. However, the other trend is to more urbanization, urban areas generally go dem - example, the Atlanta effect on GA. Red waves are more dreams than anything close to reality as the US stands.

I semi agree on the abortion issue. The SC handed the GOP the means to torch themselves, and they grabbed it willfully. The message right here in VN forums is that generally as a people we want less government control and more self determination. Typical win the battle and lose the war thinking by state GOP across the country.

So haven't caught much of anything today since this morning, How in Hades is Fetterman going to win the PA vote? That guy is mentally messed up, as much as policies.

No idea who that is.

I’d call a quack doctor selling fake health products on national television a con artist.

You have no idea who Hillary Clinton is?

Oh man..that is a reach. He is a licensed Physician..a Cardiologist. Is he being sued? Does he still have his license?
There a lot worse in the Senate and Fetterman will be one of them..by far.

I can't wrap my head around the fact dimocrats voted not on crime, economy or inflation but on having the right to kill unborn children!😳

They are evil people!

I didn’t even know you were talking about Clinton. And Oz was widely ridiculed for ******** health claims to make sales well before he got into politics. Pretty famously, honestly.
