The 26th Amendment was passed, simply because it wasn't right that 18 year old men were being drafted into military service and sent to fight in the Vietnam War, without also having a political voice. I thought this was common knowledge, but nothing is truly well-known on here. You Republican guys are idiots.

I was in the Army before I could vote - admittedly my choice. I didn't buy that argument then, and I certainly don't buy it now. It's a BS sentiment. I saw plenty of guys in the Army who were unfit to make a decision regarding who runs the country - they didn't have much to say about how things were done in the Army. Fortunately there are a lot of decision that kids still don't get to make.
