Election Night (or days, or weeks, or whatever) 2022

If it does shake out as :

Senate
Republicans ... 49
Democrats ..... 51

House of Representatives
Republicans ... 219
Democrats ...... 216

^^^^ That ^^^^ would mean that Republicans only picked up 7 seats in the House, and lost a seat in the Senate, while basically, breaking even in battleground Governor's elections. (Republicans won in Georgia, Florida, Ohio and Nevada ... and Democrats won in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arizona).

These mid-term elections were a disaster for the Republican Party.
And a huge win for the American people.
Split control brings gridlock which I’m damn happy about.
Now these ****ers will stop spending money for 2 years (maybe)
And we will have a fighting chance at ending Bidenflation
The worst thing that can happen to us is complete control with one party.

That’s one way to look at it . The other way is the constitution was righted by the overturn of RvW , it was done right before an election, the Rs will win the house despite this without a lose to the Senate because they didn’t have it to start with , our governing branches are spilt now .. the tax payers win in mid terms .

Edit : honorable mention goes to getting rid ( finally ) of another lifer . Ole Nan will never hold the gavel again . If she does , we the people deserve everything we get .
^^^^^^^

It's what I was hoping for. But was just hoping to get both houses so Dems had no control what so ever, but 2 years of stifling liberal agenda is good enough.

I wanted no part of republicans having both house and senate…..then we would relive the investigations and impeachment crap except this time in reverse

I didnt watch any election crap past voting night...anybody with good sense wanna give me the cliffs notes on what the final score is after all the cheating was counted?? Just 20 years ago, if not more recently, EVERY single race was decided and broadcast by 12 midnight on voting day. Every single race. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for that to not still be the case in all states with zero fecking exceptions. We ALL know what the hell goes on after hours behind closed doors with zero oversight....only some of us are too full of sheit to admit it. Regardless.. anybody wanna recap what happened and where we now stand? Spineless Socialist Sponges can save their collective breath.
The reason it takes so long is because one side is obsessed with accusing the other side of cheating. This has led to a whole slew of security measures being taken and a bunch of red tape and verifications, which takes time to sort through.

Trump spent more money in 2 years than Obama did in 8. Stop acting like you care about spending.

8.5 trillion first 2 years of Trump
13.8 trillion last 2 years
BO spent 29.2 trillion over 8 and that is with 2-3 years of sequestration preventing him from spending as much as he wanted.

Stop believing the memes

better to be thought a moron than to post as you just did and remove all doubts.
You’re a moron because you see things as you think they should be instead of how they are.
I’ve been bitching about spending since Bush Sr.
I voted for Clinton….the last (half way) fiscally responsible President.

Now move along. The adults are talking

They all need to understand a budget.
Trump is a big spending crap bag just like the rest.

Yeah, but they're also a disaster for the Democrats, losing control of the House and not enough of a majority in the Senate to overcome a filibuster. Both parties lose and America wins.

Also, it seems a bit ridiculous that a week after the elections they're not all resolved. I get they have to do a run-off in Georgia, but why aren't all the House races counted and reported?

for the Democrats, losing control of the House
... but that has been anticipated for several months. It's hardly a disappointment at this juncture. The Fox News idiots were calling for a "Red Tsunami" just 8 days ago. Republican results did not meet expectations.

And Democrats still lost control of the House. Are you telling me they aren't disappointed?

Neither party got the results they wanted. GOP doesn't get control of Congress, and Dems don't get to railroad through partisan legislation. The country wins.

But of course, you're going to keep echoing the party line.

They’re filling out ballots as they go.
From what I've seen, Pubs just need one more seat to have the House majority. They should get it, and probably a few more.

Not all of the undecideds are in California. Just most.

I wouldn't call it a disappointment at this moment in time, when it's been the expectation for six months.

The Democratic Party's lead in the House has been very tenuous since the 2020 election cycle. Republicans only needed to pick up 6 seats in the mid-term elections. It would not have been realistic to expect the party in power to lose fewer than that. Considering the current state of the economy and having such an unpopular President, it is a small miracle that Democrats are only going to lose between 7-10 seats in the House, and they might even pick up a seat in the Senate.

By contrast, Democrats picked up 40 seats in the House during the 2018 mid-terms, and that was with a much stronger economy than we have now. Republicans have under-performed in 2022. You can't get around that.

Propaganda was believing that there was going to be a red wave in 2022. That is what Fox News was selling, and many on here bought in to. With Trump's announcement that he is running, and planning to campaign for Herschel Walker in Georgia? Yeah ... that seat is staying in the Democrat's column. Ditto for the presidency. Trump can't win. ... and I do feel "All is well."
