Hybrids (or hydrogen powered) vehicles are the way to go right now. It lessens the use of fossil fuels and you can feel happy for yourself with the electric motor part. This would be a good segue into all electric over the next few decades and it would allow the nerds to come up with batteries that can: 1) Hold more energy 2) Charge faster 3) be less toxic 4)rely less on slave labor for components. The last two, less toxic and slave labor, I dont care about those. Thats for the bleeding hearts.

Electric cars being charged at night making America's power grid unstable

Imagine that. People use their cars during the day when the sun is out and people are up and about, and they want to charge them at night while sleeping and solar energy is dead. Who'da thunk.

There isn't going to be enough juice in the system it doesn't matter how they try and have people charge, meaning mass adaption. At that point even hybrids make no sense as all you are doing is using it as an ICEv.

The point of all this is to make it to where people can't travel and starve to death.

Elon Strikes Again: Tesla Solar Customer in Hawaii Has Waited *4 Years* to Generate Power

A man in Hawaii likely thought he would free himself from electric bills while saving the environment when he bought into Elon Musk’s promises about solar power — but all he has gotten is a Tesla nightmare. Ben Kulia’s Tesla solar panels were installed in 2018, but haven’t generated a single watt of power in the four years since. “I feel really mental anguish every time I come home,” Kulia said in describing his relationship with Elon Musk’s company.

Hawaii News Now reports that in June 2018, Tesla’s SolarCity installed solar roof panels and wall chargers on one man’s home in Manoa. Ben Kulia has been left waiting since then to actually use the solar power system that he paid for. “There’s no proper permit, I cannot turn it on,” he said. “And therefore the system just sits on my roof. And I feel really mental anguish every time I come home.”

Number of electric vehicles in America have gone up by 87% in the last year - with Elon Musk's Tesla accounting for two-thirds of the market - but EVs still only represent ONE PERCENT of the 250M vehicles on road

The number of electric vehicles in the U.S. has increased by 87.5 percent in the last year, a new report reveals, but the country will need to speed up infrastructure investment in order to have enough charging outlets to meet the growing demand.

Zutobi, a driver education company, showed a total of 543,610 EVs in America in its 2021 edition of the U.S. Electric Vehicle Charging Point Report - meaning that there are just over a million EVs in the country today.

The growth of places to charge EVs is not keeping up with demand. According to Zutobi, there were 98,422 public charging outlets in 2021 and that grew to 128,554, for a 31% increase

‘Complete and Total Disaster:’ Ford Electric Truck Utterly Fails YouTuber’s Towing Test

A YouTuber with 1.4 million followers attempted to tow a 1930 Ford Model A truck with his brand new 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck, but it ended in “a complete and total disaster.” “If a truck towing 3,500 pounds can’t even go 100 miles — that is ridiculously stupid,” Tyler “Hoovie” Hoover says in his video. “This truck can’t do normal truck things. You would be stopping every hour to recharge, which would take about 45 minutes a pop, and that is absolutely not practical.”

“This is my new 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck,” YouTuber Tyler “Hoovie” Hoover said in a video in which he tests the electric truck’s towing capabilities, which resulted in “a complete and total disaster.”

Most people that buy 1/2 ton pickups never tow or haul anything so no big deal.

Misleading article....there might be 128,000 actual chargers installed...NOT charging stations. By comparison, there are about 200,000 gas STATIONS with many gas pumps on average at each. Shoot, those" Buc Ees " gas stations that are all the rage now have about 100 gas pumps at EACH station. It will take at least a full generation of life, maybe 2 or 3, to build all the necessary infrastructure for all vehicles to be electric in the lower 48.

'Alice' in Wonderland: World’s first All-Electric Passenger Plane named after famous novel takes to the skies for the FIRST time in Washington to reach 3,500ft as 9-seat plane is set for regional commuters and cargo

The world's first all-electric passenger plane took to the skies for the first time to reach an altitude of 3,500 feet during an 8-minute flight in Washington.

After years of development by Eviation Aircraft, the inaugural flight of the zero-emissions plane that's powered by two 640-kilowatt electric motors went off without a hitch when it look off at 7:10 am on Tuesday from Grant County International Airport in Moses Lake, Washington.

Alice is targeted for commuter and cargo markets and will typically operate flights ranging from 150 to 250 miles. For context, a standard flight from New York City to Washington, D.C. is about 206 miles by plane.

I think they’re going to have to do a little better than 8 minutes.

Tesla sends out software patch fix to ONE MILLION cars to fix fault with electric windows that has left some owners with Crushed Hands

Elon Musk's Tesla has recalled more than one million US vehicles whose automatic windows may not know when an obstacle - such as a finger - is in its way, and could try to close on the unlucky digit.

'A closing window may exert excessive force by pinching a driver or passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury,' Tesla said in a notice sent to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Wednesday.

The defect prompts an official recall of over 1,096,762 cars - but thanks to Tesla's technology, that only means that a run-of-the-mill software update will be sent to the affected vehicles.

Car windows closing might mash your fingers? Who would have thought! 🤔

Keep fingers out of the way when closing windows! Good tip!👌

Behind paywall. What did they do in the great commonwealth?

I Read it and my head hurts. Very poorly written by the WaPo..just as intended. Makes no sense to me other than They coming for EV users lack of gas tax revenue and getting nimrods to sign up for driving less mileage than average, even though they drive EV

The Virginia program, known as Mileage Choice, is aimed at drivers of electric vehicles and fuel-efficient cars who pay less in gas taxes while using the same roads as other drivers.
