My daily carry is my hellcat and I’d hate to have to engage someone from 40-50 yards with it. My CZ on the other hand is awesome from distance but less comfortable to carry.

Now I never said it was comfortable. Just necessary. Lol. I carry my full size P320 under my left arm and my compact 320 on my right hip. Depending on the neighborhood I may even have my .357 on my ankle (usually reserved for Jacksonville). I believe you should train with what you carry. So my full size 320 is a competition pistol which I also shoot in competition. When this story first broke my best friend and I were talking about it and the question of what he was carrying came up. He said “I wouldn’t take that shot at 40 yards with mine” “but if that were to ever happen, I hope you’re there with yours “ 😂. I appreciated the compliment but I know it’s the gun. Not me

I haven't followed the story closely (or read this entire thread yet). Any idea what the kid was carrying? I consider myself a decent shot, but I'm not sure I would take a shot with a 9mm beyond 20-25 yards, particularly if other people were nearby.

Yep, George Bancroft. 643 boat. Did you know that when they decommissioned her, they cut the sail off of her and mounted it on a static display at the gate to Kings Bay? If you want me to, I will take a picture of it and send it to you.

I think I would if I had time to line him up while he was occupied. But no. I have no idea at this point. I assume it was full size but don’t know for sure. Context clues tell me possibilities. They said he was operating under Illinois NRA new law for constitutional carry. Tells me he was possibly outside the waistband. He lives on a farm about 30 min from said mall and farm owners tend to be partial to 1911s in my experience. They claim he only shot 10 times but never said if he emptied the mag. 10-12 shots would suggest .45. But this is all just speculation on my part.

All I've heard at this point is a 9mm Glock. Unsure of model.

Kinda hard to deny when a mass shooting is deeemed worthy of National headlines s as long as he got at least 5-10. The more victims, the more headlines. But when the shooter is “unsuccessful” because he walked out of a bathroom and got a surprise Dicken, all you hear is a whisper.

Bigger tragedies are bigger stories. Titanic goes down… huge story. Two men die when their fishing boat capsizes… not so much

From what I’ve read the first shots were at the 40 yards but he closed the distance as the engagement progressed.

There's narrative involved too. MSM is well known for only reporting on things that fit their narrative and ignoring things that do not. One of the best known cases is when the NYT admitted to ignoring increases in hate crimes in NYC because they were primarily black men attacking Jewish people and therefore did not fit their narrative.

You realize that doesn't help your argument right? You can't agree that guns end mass shootings while trying to say the key to preventing mass shootings is decreasing the availability of guns.

And the self-inflicted are due to fear of the police. They don't want to spend their life in prison so they end it. Meaning it's ultimately the gun in each of those cases.
