Not by the hire, but with the way many Vol fans are handling it. Anyone belittling Jones via message boards, twitter, facebook, etc. should be ashamed of themselves. If not, I'm ashamed for you. I'm sure most of your parents raised you better than to throw temper tantrums because you're unhappy with an athletics hire.

If you fall into the category above, grow up. Watching Grudenmania take place over here was embarrassing enough, but you're one upping yourselves. I'm sure you don't realize how silly you look.

You don't have to like the hire, but don't belittle the man. The same goes for Hart. He's not there to serve your every whim or to chase around your fantasies.

If you don't want to follow the Vols anymore, that's your choice. Deny your support financially. It would also be nice if you would choose to stay away from here, too.

There is NO excuse for that type of behavior. I'm not excited by the hire, but I will back this man because, like it or not, he is now a VOL. I will support him - just like I did Dooley until he gave me reason not to. Go Big Orange!

Op question without name calling or loosing any temper calm conversation. How do you recommended those of us tired of the administration that has put Tennessee in this mess? Only way I can see is no $ and an empty upper deck.

I have no problem with people being angry at Hart and Co, but I don't like all the CBJ bashing. He's here, he's excited, he's energetic, and he seems to be well liked by his players....lets give him a shot.

I agree you either a fan or you're not! I get so tired of hearing "so called fans" putting down a coach! If you love a team you back the coach no matter who. I think this is a great hire and I think he will get some awesome assistants to surround him and we will be back to winning!! Go CBJ and GBO!!!

Could not agree more with the OP. I heard stories about people tweeting CBJ hatefully chit this morning. Those people are clearly low intelligent trash. I hope they do stop being fans of the Big Orange.

Write Hart an email and let him know. I know Hamilton used to personally respond to his emails.

Then stop going to games. If you have season tickets, don't renew. Stop buying Vol branded merchandise.

However, if you do write him an email I hope that you'll share it here. Not sure what it would say, though. Most people who are unhappy seem to be unhappy with the "process". Yet we know very little about it. Not sure if they're unhappy that other coaches said no?

It's hopeless anyway with a lot of people here. Remember Fulmer sucked. Kiffin was great but is now an a-hole. Mike Hamilton ran the athletic program in the ground. Dooley sucks and needs to go last season. Now it's Hart. I guess next it will be Jones. It just gets tiresome.

I hope you'll share your email with us and any response that you might get.

I know Coach Jones doesn`t need my help,but if I hear or see of one more so called UT fan attacking his wife or children via; twitter,facebook etc. I would gladly tag in on the butt whipping they deserve.

Makes me sick. Grow up.

Jones was not at the top of my wishlist, but I really believe he has a greater chance of being successful in Knoxville than Gruden would have. And the downside financial risk is much smaller.

I have a hard time seeing how an NFL coach like Gruden would successfully adjust to college. I know it's been done before, but it's not that common.

Also, I believe he was on the list in 2008 and specifically said he wasn't interested in the recruiting game.

I think Gruden was like a shiny new red Ferrari and many wanted it parked in the athletic building to see the envy of other programs.

Give the guy a chance. He may not be what you wanted in a coach but I know he is 100% better than Dooley.

With him we would probably be 8-4 or 9-3 this year easy. The guy wins.

So suck it up and support the coach until he does something to deserve all this hate.

My thing is forget Gruden this hire had to be a name a big name. Gruden said no so be it. But there were better names out there that would grab attention. Tennessee had to hire that guy. Not this guy he might be the best coach in the SEC. However with the way the SEC is now it won't matter. You have to have players in this league. And at best Jones will be what the 10th best recruiter in the league? If Tennessee was in another conference I would be running down the street with joy. However they are not, and without that name that can walk in to a living room and take recruits away frombthe big dogs. This program will stay where it is.

Some people are on here just to post negative comments, they sit in there parents basement complaining on here just to see what they can stir up.

I agree.

I think we have some seriously delusional people in this fan base. This job is not as attractive as it once was. Recruiting is tougher and so is the competition. Not many "name" coaches are gonna jump at the chance to be a part of a rebuild.

Unfortunately, an up and coming coach (like Jones) is the answer right now. If he can get us back to respectability, THEN we might get harder looks from top tier coaches AND recruits.

Fulmer started the slide when his recruiting starting slipping and our offense became more predictable than a Nickelback song.

Kiffin gave us a bigger push down the hill and Dooley jumped on the sled and crashed it into a tree.

I'm a die hard fan, but I'm also a realist. We aren't top tier right now and a coach like Jones may be the guy to build us back up.

Give him a chance.
