Enough of the "we stayed with a team" crap.

Martin has some talent on this team, but basically no experience. You can trace the lack of experience to the inability to close out games with a win when playing very good competition. This games are good learning experiences for this team. We need to identify a go-to guy when the game is on the line. I'm impressed with the way this team plays and their ability at this time and expect that they will continue to improve as the season progresses. I, like everyone else, would like to see wins, but I think they will come as this team gets more experience as prime time players.

That is a good point. I noticed during the Pitt game that when it came time to win the game it appeared that they did not have any leadership or the leadership was not quite sure as to what to do. Hopefully this will come. Generally, Tennessee has been good down the stretch the last few years.

I like all this. I thought the 7 of 21 was excellent (and for folks claiming Gibbs "owned" him late; he was 3 for 10 in the first half and 4 for 11 in the second). If I had any criticism it'd be a few of the substitutions (i.e. McBee in at the end, when we really needed McRae to chase); but even on that, he stuck in Yemi, Yemi got beat on the perimeter and Cuonzo went "uh-oh" and pulled him right back out. Good stuff.

7 of 21 is not excellent but it is not awful either. Same as shooing 50% from two point range. I would rate 7 of 21 33% below average, 40% good and 45% or better excellent.
Some people have a different idea of what excellent means.

Willie willie
Pearl inherited at least 3 starters from Buzz's era and 60% of the scoring offense.
Martin inherited 1 starter and 30% of the scoring offense from Bruce.
See a problem here?

This team has much quicker more athletic and bigger guards than Pearl. Supposedly Golden, Richardson and Mcray can shoot and Washpun is supposed to be very quick excellent ball handling skills and has a 40 inch vertical.
But I dont think they shoot as well as jujuan and lofton. I dont see a big difference in the number and talent of the inside players. But I guarantee you that Pearls team was in much better condition and was much better schooled in defense, offense and rebounding than this team has shown so far. After 13 years as a head coach Pearl had his system which included the responsibilities of his assistant coaches down pat. Martin has only three year as a head coach and his record was pretty good showing improvement each year but I think his competition in the SEC will be quite a bit stiffer. I truly would like to see Martin surpass Pearl in every area, but what I have seen so far is not encouraging to me.

Again, stupid trolling effort. No one thinks it's cute, funny, smart, anything. It's stupid and you're ruining this forum.

What do you think you are doing calling anybody who has a different opinion than you idiots, dumbasses, and stupid. You have been caught in numerous lies trying to
prove your points or assumptions. You claim to be 24 yrs
old, yet, claim to be a senior member. LMAO

7 of 21 was Gibbs' shooting. He was only 1 of 3 on three pointers. The 7 of 21 referenced here was Golden's defensive effort on Gibbs, which, by the numbers, was excellent. I have no idea what you're talking about.

As far as condtioning, it was Pittsburg that was out of gas in the last 4 minutes of the game. They were the ones missing the front end of 1 and 1s and our guys made up an 8 point deficit. Didn't execute the last play. Bad decision by Golden. we lost the game on the boards though.
Keyword: returning starters.
Pearl had 3 to work with. cuonzo has one. He's building his starters.
And in case you're confused, Cuonzo has been a D1 coach his entire career. It was Bruce that started in D2.

LMAO

You continue to reveal your IQ, as you obviously have no idea what being a senior member means. Goes along real well with your basketball IQ.

There you go, knowthevols. I thought you were better than this. Obviously not. I "claim" to be a senior member? Interesting considering I didn't put that on there and I don't know how to change it.

I'd also be interested to see some of the lies I've been caught in.

How about you posting that Tom Izzo had coached his
team (Michigan State) to ten final fours.

We could have some decent discussions if it wasn't for some of the posters, me included, that go to extremes
when we get into these Pearl pissing contests.

We need to just knock it off with the Pearl garbage all the time. We need to just get a mod to do what they did with Fulmer. Create one thread in here and devote it to Pearl. Then, those that want can argue from now on about it. And, then it won't clutter up every single thread on this forum.

I would love to just discuss the present team and its coach (and I really hope Coach Martin does well). We have some troubles with this team which need to be addressed. You made a legitimate point about the rotation problems and its effecting rebounds the other day. Its hard to discuss what needs to be done once the crap gets started.:)

I don't see as it matters, a loss is a loss, playing close
games is even more disapointing since we don't win any of them.

Getting beat after playing hard sucks. But teams that play hard for their coach tend to get better over time. And I can handle getting beat by a better team a lot easier than watching a team quit on the coach.

The wins are coming.
Maymon isn't 100% but should get some needed rest to heal in the next 6 games.
Hall is showing signs of life.
Good things coming in January. IMHO
