When we lost to Georgia everyone was saying "Well it hurts more losing at the end of the year because it matters WHEN you lose.) We will see if that delusion still applies when the media darling is on the cutting block.They won’t.
With that said...we should’ve taken care of business in Fayetteville.
We lost 2 games. No other year would we even.have a shot at the title. Wherever we end up, we deserve that spot. I see dropping Ohio state between Georgia and us and then if Georgia loses, Georgia drops below Ohio state and host us. I don't like the 8/9 spot because I don't see us matching well with Oregon. Unless Georgia gets blown out in the Championship, which I don't believe happens I think we sit in place. We need Oregon to blow out Penn State. I believe they would drop just due to their weak schedule.
Yep. This right here.You can argue these scenarios a hundred different ways...OSU lost to the #1 by a point, we lost to Arkansas.
I really hope we get to host a game, but as you move from the top down you start splitting hairs. Bama was our big win, they lost to Vandy and then lost to Oklahoma by 3 TDs.
OSU lost at home to one of the worst Michigan teams in several years...like I say it's like splitting hairs.
Wouldn't that be Oregon destroy Penn State OR TX to blow up Georgia? We'd only need to move up 1 spot to host, right?
There’s a difference between ranking and seed. If Tennessee is ranked 7th in the actual college football rankings, that translates to the 9 seed.How does ESPN's Heather Dinich have us ranked at # nine after yesterday when we were ranked # 8 going into the Vandy game? OH sure! We beat a bowl bound SEC team at their home and 2 teams ranked above us lost. Yeah that makes sense Don't tell me that ESPN and the media in general aren't biased toward UT. If you believe that please contact me because I have some beach front property in Nevada you will just love!
Ok I'll give you that one, but on the other hand,..There’s a difference between ranking and seed. If Tennessee is ranked 7th in the actual college football rankings, that translates to the 9 seed.
Difference was more time to play catch-up and move up with games remaining. OSU won’t be punished like many here want, they still have equity in the name and playoff money to earn the NCAA.Don't forget Georgia went from 3 to 12 after losing to Ole Miss as a 3 point road favorite. Ohio State lost as a 20 point home favorite.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. One of those three things must happen for us to play at home. Pretty cut and dried.The teams seeded five through eight are hosting, but given the nature of byes you’re going to have two conference champions ranked outside of the top eight that push other teams down.
We need Oregon to destroy Penn State and Texas to blow up Georgia if we want a chance at hosting unless OSU somehow falls behind us.
I would guess it’ll be Ohio State as the 8. Their loss at Oregon was closer than our loss at Georgia and they have 2 “good” wins while we have 1. I believe at Vandy is just as good as home against IU but the committee won’t see it that way.Fully prepared for an Ohio State vs Tennessee matchup in the 8/9 game. Gonna be dramatics for who gets the 8 seed
And we took a hard left.Ok I'll give you that one, but on the other hand,..
I think most people would agree that historically speaking, UT football is up there with Bama, UGA , OSU, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, TX etc. So how many Heisman winners do they have?
USC=8, OK=7, ND=7, OSU=7, Bama =4, Florida=3
Hell even South Carolina has 1
So how many does UT have? 0 0 0 0 0 0
That really does not make sense!
