ESPN already setting the CFP narrative

Ok I'll give you that one, but on the other hand,..

I think most people would agree that historically speaking, UT football is up there with Bama, UGA , OSU, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, TX etc. So how many Heisman winners do they have?

USC=8, OK=7, ND=7, OSU=7, Bama =4, Florida=3

Hell even South Carolina has 1

So how many does UT have? 0 0 0 0 0 0

That really does not make sense! 🤬
ESPN did go back and instate the Heisman winners for all the years one wasn't chosen. They declared Running back Gene McEver as the 1929 Heisman winner. Dylan Sampson broke his 95 year old TD mark this year. Not official but when ESPN does something positive for UT must of been overwhelming data to support.

Here will be Heather's answer "any other game except maybe the Iron Bowl we look at this as 2 monster programs (OSU/Michigan) going at each other, in this case with a few certain teams we just look at it different". Its a good loss not bad at all.
On SECN she said on Miami she said the committee love Cam Ward and they have resiliently won some close games. Not mentioning controversial win vs V Tech that should be an L. This committee is terrible. I'm happy for the 12 team playoff but the DEI committee and their giving low SOS Conferences auto bid and byes is just frustrating
DEI? Y'all have such a persecution fetish. Keep that in your bedroom, please.

Ohio state has beaten 2 playoff teams and we have beaten none. I could see them being ahead of us.
The buckeyes also just lost to an average Michigan team at home that they should have crushed. OSU is going in the wrong direction.

I’ll say what I said during the 4-team playoff era. The committee is going to do whatever the hell they want, and they’ll find a way to justify it. If they want to put OSU in front of TN, they’ll point to their two top ten wins as the reason.

Valid points for sure. The outcomes of the championship games in the big 10 and SEC have the potential to be very advantageous for us. I see Oregon taking care of business against PSU and UGA over TX. UT should absolutely jump the losers in that scenario.

"Experts" indeed.

No one ever explains what makes any of these media hacks "experts", they just blindly accept it as fact.

Same goes for the bureaucrats on the corrupt "committee". God, they are hell bent on destroying what was the greatest of all sports.

And if Oregan blows out Penn State, then those two teams (Penn State and Indiana) while ranked in the top 10, will have not beaten any ranked team.

Tennessee will have beaten Bama who beat Georgia who beat Texas who beat Michigan who beat Ohio State who beat the two teams in question.

One can spin the narrative in so many ways!

Regardless of what folks at ESPN think both the AP and Coaches poll believes Tennessee should be ranked ahead of Ohio State.

While they have positioned teams differently from one poll when those two polls haven't agreed (i.e. Miami above and below Tennessee for several weeks), I don't believe they have ever veered away from the situation where both polls agreed in terms of the ranking between two teams.

Only 1 of these thinks Alabama makes it in over South Carolina?

And Andrea Adelson is apparently smoking crack.

If we are ranked 7th would we not be the 8th seed?

If Miami and Iowa state (for example) are down at the bottom, then the 7th ranked team would be 9th seed. If.

Some of these have no clue what they are talking about.

- Ohio State beat Indiana so they will always be in front of Indiana.
- Arizona State will not jump ahead of Boise State unless Boise State loses.
- South Carolina will NOT end up ahead of Alabama. South Carolina LOST to both Bama and Ole Miss. Beating Clemson does not carry enough clout to put them ahead of Bama.
- All believe Oregon is going to beat PSU. And most believe Texas will beat Georgia in the rematch.
- Many seem to want to push Notre Dame out of the 5 spot and insert Texas or PSU if they lose. I think ND is a lock for the 5 spot.
- 7 out of 13 have Tennessee seeded below OSU. 6 are having a difficult time resolving the fact that OSU lost to Michigan at home when they were a 20+ point Favorite.
- Miami has lost 2 of their last three games to UNRANKED teams. I don't see them surviving that.

Yeah what in the heck is she thinking?

Indiana jumping up to 7? Lol - I guess that win over mighty Purdue did it for her.

South Carolina jumping both uga and Tennessee.. makes a ton of sense

We have no idea how they will treat conference runner ups this season. In years past they have punished the championship loser but they may do it differently this season. We really don’t know. When pressed for how they will look at championship games they didn’t even have an answer because they have given zero thought to it.

The committee gets alot of deserved criticism, but i dont envy them on Sunday. Its been utter Chaos the past 2 weeks. 1-4 should be set for the conf winners. 5.) ND and 6.) TN then put the other teams in what ever order you want behind that.

Penn St may not lose a hosting spot but they currently have only 1 loss. However Indiana took just 1 loss and dropped below Tennesse and nobody is talking about them being ahead of Tennessee.

Georgia already has 2 losses and needed 8 overtimes to beat unranked GT at home. And Georgia is currently ranked just 1 spot ahead of Tennessee. How in the world does Georgia not drop below us if they take a 3rd loss. That would be an outrage and mean that playing the SECCG is completely meaningless.
Georgia Tech is probably my second favorite team. They finished 7-5, but they lost 2 games this year that Haynes King (their QB) didn't play in. As you can see the other night if you watched, King is a difference maker. With King, Georgia Tech is a very solid football team and if he is healthy all year they are probably 9-3 at worst.

I don't see how you can have the Big 10 loser or the SECC loser behind us. That's why the OhSt vs Tennessee discussion is so important. To me, Ohio St is more deserving but it's an arguable point for sure.

If TX loses, which probably happens, then why wouldn't they be behind us in the rankings? Our best win is better than theirs and they struggled mightily to put Vandy away in Nashville while we beat them with ease. I could also see Penn State dropping below us if Oregon embarrasses them.
