I'm with you, the difference is CDD takes some time and does it right. It is also in all of the recruits best interest that we dont fire a LOI out to every Tom, Dick and Johnsons, CDD accually does some recruiting up front.

Thanks for clearing this up. I don't know what else they expected either. Sounds like we let them know we wanted him. Oh well. I think Dooley is doing a great job.

This is a great example of how you can take a few facts, leave a few out (or just not know them). And come up with an epically stupid article that doesn't manage to get a single correct conclusion from said facts.

17 yr old kid overreacted, it happens. the staff will fix it as long as the kid is willing to realize he's an olineman.

Let's give Coach Dooley and his staff some time to prove themselves in the real world. We'll get an idea how that group can coach next season, and we'll see how they can recruit with a full year in place through Signing Day. I'm very satisfied with what they have done so far, but the proof will come later. Like serveral posters have said, we really won't know if he was the right choice untill his third year. I'm going to relax a little for now. We had enough "excitement" in Jan. & Feb. to last me a couple of years.

The way some you guys visit this forum like its your drug of choice :D is fine by me (I can't say I'm not here atleast three times a week) but already jumping the gun on a coach that was on the road busting his tail to save a good recruiting class as well as add some good peices to it is beyond me.

I don't care about the "flash and bang" and wasn't on board with Lane's way of doing it.... it might feed your addiction but I'm all about doing the process correctly. If Dooley has to take a minute to step back and figure out the process then I'm OK with that. I will wait and be critical at the end of next year before I start wondering about Dooley.

Honestly I wish that Kiffin would have taken some of our "gotta have the info now, need to hear were doing OK everyday" fans with him to USC.

Throwing stones at a coach when he is right at a month in his job is just plain stupid. Go back to looking at recruits and stop drinking so much Red Bull everyday. We will be fine.

and didn't we lose Anthony Johnson because of his Uncle left Tennessee and got a job at LSU?

So your saying that everytime I read something critical about Tennessee recruiting and Dooley on the internet I should run and post the link and Negative Thread Title here.... that way we can all turn against our new Coach or talk about how stupid a reporter is? :good!:

Personally I believe that everyone on here that wants to ALREADY be that critical of a hard working coach who has the same desires we do.... why aren't they out there recruiting for some team instead of judging someone else already? Do you not believe that he already has a clue about how to recruit. If you want him to recruit like Kiffin then by all means... go become a USC fan instead. JMHO

Eh. IDK. I like Dooley but I don't think we just ignore every article that casts him in a bad light. This is a major outlet even though the article is mindnumbingly stupid. I have no problem with the post or the OP portrayal of the tone of the article. The OP put in the ignorant part about the loss of Anthony Johnson; that kind of shows the article was ill informed BS.

It's an article written about UT recruiting and this is a UT sports message board. It belongs. And the title is the exact same as what was posted on ESPN.

the leaps you're making are beyond belief. Settle down just a bit. You can go read the fluff pieces if that's all you're interested in reading.

Leaps? Every thread I read is some Vol fan saying something negative about Dooley in recruiting.... Personally I would like to think that Vols fans are more mature then that.

If VolATLien is your friend then by all means defend him... I could care less. I'm not pointing a finger just at him.. I am just saying that he doesn't need to act like he wasn't trying to start something.

If we have a good season next year and have a fairly good recuiting class then everyone already jumping the gun will be agreeing with me. What I am saying is don't be so critical so soon. Its shallow to do so. Give someone some time to prove who they are.

I have been saying this for awile. dooley needs to get with the program and realize this isint the sec of 2001-2003. im willing to give the guy a break but....this pisses me off. the kid is a great player and has the type of passion we want. I think dooley just lost a couple of wheels on that dooley truck....right now its looking like a model T......
