ESPN Article (excerpts): Dooley Slacking?

meanwhile, an in-state recruit is also bemoaning the cold shoulder from dooley. Memphis dt terry redden said that he wants to play close to home, and at this point he favors lsu and alabama. Former vols coach lane kiffin and usc have also been calling. However, dooley & co. Apparently haven't made redden, also an espnu 150 watch list member, a priority. "i hear from them every once in a while," he said. Still, he plans to be at ut's junior day later this month.

After doing a bang-up job with the 2010 class in such a short time, dooley sure is taking an odd approach to the 2011 class. In redden's case, it comes despite dooley's having said that he wants to make in-state recruits a priority.

Oh for God's sake! ESPN was drooling over the guy on NSD. He was hired, guys were upset. He gave a good presser, guys were thrilled. Didn't get a DC fast enough, guys were upset. Great recruiting class, guys were thrilled. Now its time to be upset again for what? IMO we won't reaally know how good the Vols under CDD will be until he gets 2 seasons under his belt. Then, if we play physical, win the games we should, win some games we are not expexted to, recruit in the top 10 regularly etc... we got a winner. If those things don't happen, maby we need to look elsewhere. No way we can know right now.

I am less than thrilled with Dooley at this point.

Just be patient. It's a big change from Kiffin, but Dooley knows what he's doing and he knows how to recruit.

In two years... you will probably be very thrilled. We need a couple of stellar recruiting classes from Dooley. Then we will be able to deal with Florida and Bama on an annual basis.

It's gonna be a fun season. GO VOLS!!
