Bama could not easily win out. They go to Florida. Missouri is irrelevant b/c we play them. Florida and Ole Miss are likely to win out.

Depends on who is back from injury for Florida. Stranger things have happened this year. And even if Bama (11-4) loses one, they're still ahead of Tennessee. If Florida (12-3) loses one, UK (11-4) loses one, and Ole Miss (10-5) loses one, they're still ahead of the Vols. That's the point.

The SEC has been so inconsistent I'm not even gonna try and get into it, just gonna enjoy this next week of games and with 1 game remaining then I'll look at scenarios lol.

Exactly. Tennessee needs some help to get into the top 4. And I don't see it happening, personally. Every team ahead of us could easily win out, particularly Florida, Ole Miss, Mizzou, and Bama. Of course, if any of those do win out, that means another didn't, but there are several possibilities that could prevent Tennessee from getting that 4th seed.

Ole miss and Bama still play so they both cant win out, but I agree with the idea of what your saying. The Bama ole miss game probably will determine how high UT seed can be. Any tie breakers that involve Ole Miss, UT comes out on the bottom. If they somehow finish with different records, UT owns the tue breakers in almost all the other scenarios.

What are the tie breakers for split series? I don't remember. And yeah, some teams still play each other (Florida-UK, Bama-Ole Miss, and Mizzou-Tennessee), but any of these teams COULD win out. It'll be interesting to watch it unfold. For the Vols, just win and let the chips fall where they will.

In a spit series as long as only the 2 teams are part of the tie, the tie breaker is winning percentage vs the #1 team in the conference. (Thus UT beating Florida helps here against Bama and maybe UK later). If they have the same winning percentage against the 1st place team you just start going down the standings till you break the tie.

Bolded isn't necessarily true. There is at least one reasonable scenario where UT wins out and only gets a 5 seed.

True. I should have stated "strong possibility" instead.

Let's take a quick look at how I see it play out...
> FL (w/ Frazier & Yeguete return) wins-out = 15-3
> KY (w/ Noel out) will go 2-1 (lose to FL) and finish = 13-5. However, they very well could lose to ARK and finish 12-6.
> AL should go 2-1 (lose to FL) and finish = 13-5
> Ole Miss may go 2-1 (lose to Ala) but could go 1-2 (losing to both AL & LSU) to finish = 12-6 OR 11-7
> Mizzou doesn't matter if Vols win-out.

Strange things can/have happened. That said, FL & AL (in all likelihood) are in. KY is in if they finish 2-1 and a high prob at 1-2. It's Ole Miss & Tennessee for the final 4th spot.

Why is UT not in Lunardi's updated bracketology from today? Immediately following the win over Florida, he threw us all the way up to first out. What's going on?

Apparently he hasn't updated that part

He tweeted something about doing a radio interview on 105.1 The Zone out of Chattanooga and whether he would get any questions about Tennessee. There weren't any follow up tweets. You would think someone asked him why the weren't in the first 8 out but I haven't seen any quotes or reports from it.
