Espn doing their thing against Tennessee again

1. Win out. Beat Missouri, USCe, and Vandy

2. Everything else will take care of it’s self. Way too much football left to worry about anything but winning out.
Yep, still have a chance to go 12-1 with a bowl win at the very least. Fantastic year by any standard.

Just think, when the CFP goes to 12 teams we may actually be in every year. Then we can just argue about seeding. LOL

The hate for Tennessee is real. We lose one game and we are now overated and not top 10 material. But when Georgia got destroyed by bama in the SEC title game last year it was all well it's ok they are still in the playoffs.

Here is the deal, let's just not worry about playoffs right now. There is a lot of football to play and some of those teams in the mix are going to lose between now and then.

We really just need to show up Saturday and make sure we support our team against Missouri. We need that confidence back and need to beat Missouri soundly.

Jesus what a whiny ass article. We have the thinnest skin of any fan base in the country. What Dinich said/wrote was a very valid and educated opinion of what could happen. There absolutely is a chance that LSU might get in over us with a win in the SEC tournament. Why? Because they would have beaten the undisputed best team in the country AND become the champion of the hardest conference in the nation. And yes, we beat them head to head and I believe we are the better team, but we did not look like a team that was in the same class as UGA last weekend and LSU would have beat them on a huge stage to end the season. And also yes, there is a good chance a one loss Oregon would go in front of us. Sure, we sucked less against UGA than they did but if the win 12 straight after that loss, while beating 3 ranked teams in the last 4 games AND winning a conference championship (while we end the season beating 3 teams that any top 25 team should beat AND not playing in a conference championship game) then there is a legit argument that they deserve to go over us. IT is not "ESPN bias " against UT. IT is only a reality based opinion. I would argue against LSU or Oregon going in front of us but I, like everyone on this board am an extremely biased fan who spends too much time obsessing on UT sports. My opinion is it likely does not matter as LSU will not beat UGA, TCU will not go unbeaten and the odds are against Oregon or USC running the table. All 3 would need to happen to keep us out assuming we win out. And then maybe.

No one stated we are not top 10, only not top 4 currently. And by definition, at #1 we were clearly overrated. And UGA proved them correct when the won the National Championship

Seriously, WGAF what that woke crapshow ESPN thinks, says or does? The ONLY way they can get me to watch their channel is by having a Tennessee game on...

ESPN is not a monolithic sports news company.

It is, rather, a collection of writers, producers, and on-air personalities who are each allowed to pursue their own angles and, to some extent, allegiances. ESPN the company, writ large, seems to believe that they can collectively achieve Objectivity if everyone just goes their own way and the audience adds it up.

Which is a long-winded way of saying, OP, you're wrong. ESPN isn't pursing an anti-Tennessee angle. Heather Dinch is -- but she has long been a self-appointed champion of the weaker P5 conferences, particularly, iirc, the ACC. Herbstreit doesn't honestly seem to be anti-SEC in his tweet so much as he's trying to be pro-PAC. Giving Oregon a little love, for whatever reason.

There are slights to be concerned about, but this isn't one of them, I don't think. It's just Heather Dinch being Heather Dinch and Kirk Herbrstreit continuing his weird 2022 wandering. Remember: we WANT Kirk to pick against us; we win that way.

Go Vols!

Heather Dinch covered Maryland & went to University if Indiana, so she cut her teeth in B1G. They had to have a female voice on the panel, so I would assume she had the resume and politics they wanted. I haven’t dissected her opinions but her being human they probably lean B1G.

After 24 years we held the crown for 3.5 days and now every media idiot not connected to Tennessee is regurgitating "Georgia's dominance" over us. They will not let this opportunity slip by without rubbing our faces in this defeat. Hold your head high no matter what. I'm NOT SATISFIED with the "we had a good year" BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. We shatted the bed Saturday.......this is on us, own it and use it to get better.
2. No longer control our destiny.
3. Dominate our next 3 opponents
4. Pray the stars to align (other teams to stumble in coming weeks) to get that 4th spot.
5. If Georgia wins out we need them to win the SECCG
6. Pray

Most of you are taking this as an poke at Tennessee thing. I think it is a poke at the SEC. Had UGA lost, we would have probably seen the same rant but insert UGA for Tennessee. Unless my memory fails me the SEC has never been left out of the top 4 and has been the only conference to ever get 2 teams into the playoffs. They also, I believe have the most championships. The SEC is also the conference that pushed to play football in the COVID year. The other conferences had to scramble late to be involved and were pushing for spring or to skip a year.

UGA and TN are the two SEC teams most likely to be the discussion for the top 4. A 2 loss LSU, a 2 loss Bama is not in the conversation - unless you have a host of conference champions with 2 losses. Top 6 maybe but not top 4. Most feel Ole Miss will lose at least one more putting them out of the discussion. So UGA and TN are the two teams that could keep another conference champion or a 1 loss B10 team out of the top four provided both win out.

If this were to play out with LSU winning the conference champion with 2 losses AND you have all other major conference champions with 0 or 1 loss, this narrative will change and become a narrative to exclude the SEC from the top 4 - because (1) you shouldn't take a 2 loss conference champion over a conference champion with less losses and (2) you shouldn't select a non-conference champion (UGA) without also taking the champion and (3) you shouldn't take a 2 loss conference champion that was beat badly by another team "at home" in that conference who only has 1 loss.

Edited to add: Some of the media really don't care if the best 4 teams are selected - they more than likely just want someone different than an SEC team to win.

What is this?? Logical thoughts?? This is not the arena for that. We’re here to find a simple opinion an spin it to get our feelings hurt.

Seriously, great post!! Much better stated than mine would’ve been
