We all know ESPN hates Tennessee by now. That said, what can we as Vol fans do about it? (Protest, boycott, drawing attention to it via other media outlets, petitions, etc)??? What proof and evidence do we have to support our claim? Just thought it would be a fun thread to conjure up a plan of action and put ESPN's unfair treatment and passive-aggressive tendencies toward Tennessee to rest.

On the other hand, if you are of the belief that ESPN does not in fact hate Tennessee, feel free to flame away and bash me for my delusional stance. Either way, let's have some fun here and kill some time until the beatdown of Alabama tomorrow.

ESPN reporter hates anything to do with the SEC. One reporter said they are nothing but a bunch of good ole boy rednecks that are racist.

Waaaayyyy too much to go into, but I believe it all got started in the 90's after one of their analysts called Tennesseans trailer park trash. Also, they promoted Woodson during the 1997 heisman race and pretty much campaigned for him over Manning. Since then, countless other things. Some big, most small.

Just start watching Sportscenter with the fact that they hate us in mind and it will become clear

chris fowler said that after getting hate mail regarding the whole heisman thing.

that's something (the 1997 heisman) that most people don't want to accept.

i can understand having the belief that manning should have won. however, i see post after post from people who speak as if charles woodson was some chump who didn't have the spectacular season that he had.

while espn may cover college sports, there were several people across the country who voted and had the free will to vote as they desired. espn didn't force anyone to vote for woodson

I am a Tennessee Vols fan. That being said why do you think ESPN hates Tennessee? Because they tell the truth about us. Take off the orange colored glasses. We have been on ESPN alot on Saturday nights in football. And to tell you the truth Auburn and Clemson is a bigger game right now than UT and NC State. So what we will be on ESPN U.

At least somebody else around here gets it. :salute:

If you don't think what ESPN thinks matters, you are making a big mistake? Who do you think the recruits and the nation as a whole trust to get their sports info? It matters. Especially in recruiting and the national perception of our school.

Espn absolutely hates Tennessee. Its not a joke its the truth. Florida fans wear jorts, bammers dig taters, Georgia fans are all in bred, Espn hates us. Its not a stereotype if its true. Its as real as vandy and Kentucky sucking.

No joke it was Shelley Smith. I remember it was a show about 911 and the SEC wanted to go a head and play that weekend and espn got upset about it and she came out and said they are nothing but a bunch of good ole boy rednecks that worried about there pocket books.

while i disagree with the statement that the sec is just a bunch of rednecks and racists......

the stadiums and schools are lily white.

finding black people in the stands (that aren't members of the players' families) is almost like trying to find bigfoot
