ESPN hates TN. What now?

ESPN does not hate Tennessee. They just hate programs that they can't feature and lately, we have NOT been a program worth featuring. When we start winning again, we will be media darlings just like 'Bama and Florida have been.

ESPN has a friends with benefits relationship with Bama and Florida..... at the sametime. ESPN is married.....:eek:hmy:

thank you. Its amazing people cant see the answer instead of wanting to draw up some crazy conspiricy.

Think its a conspiricy then go to the UT media guide an look at the number of times we're on the ESPN family compared to the number of wins in the season and previous season. With three sub .500 seasons and one 7 win season in the last 4 years, we're not exactly the most exciting team to watch.

Look who's racist ESPN...

well not really racist, this town is 15 miles from me and they were known as ... 1964 Pekin Chinks Win State Championship

SEC BB tourney not on ESPN --- they hate the whole conf now --- thanks to Texas A and M

ESPN hate is tied to the network's love of UCONN (just down the road from Bristol, CT) and the fact that UT was the Huskies biggest rival in their day. Not today of course as the Lady Vols have slipped a bit.

If you don't think what ESPN thinks matters, you are making a big mistake? Who do you think the recruits and the nation as a whole trust to get their sports info? It matters. Especially in recruiting and the national perception of our school.

Much the same as CNN before FNC.

i didn't say anyone was not able to purchase a ticket.

my basic point was if some outsider came down to tuscaloosa, alabama, and didn't see very many black people in the stands or on campus when the state has a large black population, it might give an outsider the wrong impression.

especially, given the fact that because we are in the south, every school does have a few members of the fan base who embody the worst stereotypes of the south.

southerners have no problems identifying each other as a bunch of rednecks, but let a non-southerner do it and all hell breaks loose

What the heck impression is anyone EVER going to draw from the attendance at a football game. Gator go find somewhere else to spew your ignorance.

We all know ESPN hates Tennessee by now. That said, what can we as Vol fans do about it? (Protest, boycott, drawing attention to it via other media outlets, petitions, etc)??? What proof and evidence do we have to support our claim? Just thought it would be a fun thread to conjure up a plan of action and put ESPN's unfair treatment and passive-aggressive tendencies toward Tennessee to rest.

On the other hand, if you are of the belief that ESPN does not in fact hate Tennessee, feel free to flame away and bash me for my delusional stance. Either way, let's have some fun here and kill some time until the beatdown of Alabama tomorrow.

Maybe it's Rocky Top they hate, everyone outside of UT does! :) Seriously, I think any program could make the case that ESPN hates them for one reason or another. I don't think that ESPN, as an organization, spends much time thinking/scheming about UT. No conspiracy.

Every time ESPN shows ANY team and talk about "how good they are" while they're showing the team's highlights they always manage to sneak in big plays the team has made against UT. I've even seen old footage shown from a previous season. They just are trying to get jabs in.

So, it is ESPNs fault that UT provides them with highlight reel plays by other teams? Maybe if the Vols wouldn't give up a 60 yard punt return where almost every cover man touches the return man we wouldn't be in this situation.

I dont think ESPN hates us I dont think they are about
They are worried about Lebron James tweets, minute by minute Tim Tebow, If Tiger Woods/Lakers are back , Whatever the heck the Cowboys/Yankees are doing.
Then they worry about college sports.
However I am glad they play as many UT games in primetime as they do. BBALL has been bad for two years and FBALL for even longer yet we still have plenty of games on ESPN and ESPN2 just a few are on ESPNU

Haha thats funny because the SOUTH has way more black people then any part of the country. That includes the SEC!

The numbers above mean nothing. It's who's in charge of programs that count. I think right now, only Texas A&M has an African-American head coach. Historically, the count has been zero.

Most of the time we are on primetime because we are playing a ranked SEC opponent.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't ESPN give us a dedicated 30 minute all-access series during preseason a couple of years ago? I can't remember the name of the show...
