In that same article is says that D+ lost 4 million paid subscribers this past quarter. Also, NPR, which means I can't trust it
Not sure on the NPR article as I didn’t read it, but Disney did have $21.8B in revenue for the last quarter (+13% Y/Y). Up until I think this last quarter the parks were basically caring the company. Also, the 4 million subscriber loses was due to Disney + Hotstar losing the Indian Cricket league

They aren’t dying, but they are struggling. There’s been talk of them shutting down their Animal Kingdom park because of how much it costs to maintain it. They aren’t invincible.
Where did you hear that? I stay really close to Disney news and haven’t anything even remotely close to them closing a park. They are actually working in plans to renovate a whole land in Animal Kingdom

A little harsh there, K-town. 1st sentence of the article he linked clearly says rumored. I had heard that earlier this year as well.

"The “poor financial state” of Disney’s Animal Kingdom could be the reason behind rumored plans for the closure of the animal- and conservation-themed park at Walt Disney World."

Was actually favorite park there when we took the kiddos.

I couldn't imagine the write-off hit Disney would take for the Pandora investment if they closed down Animal Kingdom. They are more likely to reimagine the property before just leveling it (see Epcot).

What is harsh about his post? Just pointing out that it is fake news? I guess it can still be "rumored" to be closing even if it isn't true. The article Dave linked even mentions that the rumors likely started because of Josh D'Amaro commenting about a revamp to Dinoland. Not sure how a revamp gets turned into a closure, but I guess people will run with anything these days.

You asked him where he'd heard that and he posted the article. Wasn't like he put an article up from the onion or something. The response I replied to just seemed snippy. Doesn't matter, possible I was reading into it too much due to my observations from lurking in the political forum.

And I agree, the bolded part is absolutely true these days. Slow news day...... create some. Is the world of 24/7 "news"

The people that run these Disney fan sites usually have really good inside info. Yes, it is a rumor, but if they’re printing it, then I’d say they have a very reliable source.

Okay then it's irresponsible of the "news" site to use a misleading headline

ESPN is in such decline, Maya Moore would field trip to the local radio station instead.

Is it really?......crap......so sick of these iconic movies being remade 40 years later and ruining the franchise. Top Gun is the only one that comes to mind that tried to hold true to the original instead of just a cheesy cash grab. (And for the record the original is best)

The ones that seem to do well like Top Gun or Ghostbusters Afterlife are sequels and not remakes. Remakes are not working.
