Estate Taxes

You could easily cut the size of government in half and, except for making citizens’ lives easier, nobody would notice.

The bloat that exists inside the entities of the federal government are mind boggling. I’ve seen it first hand.

We’ve managed to weather the storm of a pandemic. I think we can figure out how to live with far less government.

Why is there a number?

I am all for telling someone no if something doesnt check out. But besides that we shouldnt be turning people away.

Is contributing less to the greater good than consuming government welfare considered something not checking out? We can always use more hard working individuals willing to contribute to society.

Don’t we already have a comprehensive program? About a million per year become US citizens and many more are admitted entrance as documented visitors.

Physical barriers are a component of a comprehensive program.
No, our immigration policies are ridiculous. They don't address the needs and the population to fill them. There is no need for a Maginot line when there is no incentive to cross

Even for those people it takes a decade for citizenship. I've watched

Left off the most accurate... a physical barrier. The Globalists have had a set back in their quest to eliminate borders.
You and I disagree on the need and the effect of a border wall. I respect your opinion. I don't see any value in hashing the merits of our viewpoints, though.

Debt reduction requires 2 factors. Less spending and more revenue. All the revenue not needed to fund the lowered spending is to pay down debt.

Revenue is most easily increased as GDP increases. McDad proposes tax-exempt wages on overtime pay and on earning from a second job (within limited criteria). The boon to the economy combined with the increase in income would supercharge our production.

How do you define second job?

Cause painting is my real life passion and I have always considered it my first job. Architecture is just what I do on the side to make ends meet.

Second job defined as employed by another person or entity with payroll reported to the IRS while existing full-time employment (32 hours per week minimum) is maintained simultaneously.

It should be way more difficult to become a citizen than just checking a few boxes.

Across the board cuts sound great because they are easy. They have been used before if you will recall, it was called "sequestration" (it would automatically occur under certain circumstances, the main one being a failure to pass a budget) and conservatives hated it as much as liberals because it cut the military budget. In fact they said it was putting the country's security at risk. Both parties joined together to repeal it.

Look I believe there are a lot of things that could save $200 to $400 billion from the budget. Procurement policies could be changed to allow more "off-the-shelf" purchasing, especially in the military. Also they should allow medicare and the VA to buy drugs at the cheapest price even if that meant purchasing from overseas. Eliminate these BS paid positions, such as the "advisory boards" to the Service Academies (what the hell does Kellyanne Conway know about the AF Academy?).

But that's not going to get you to a balanced budget.

Another indictment proving there is no difference between the "parties" apart from some window dressing.

Actually the estate tax was the first national tax. It was promoted by Teddy Roosevelt as a device to break up the concentrated wealth and power of the old robber barons.

As for the poster who says the IRS could just say the estate is worth $500 million, actually no they can't. It's my understanding the Taxpayer Bill of Rights says that if the IRS assesses a tax without proof and the amount is determined to have been incorrect, the taxpayer can recover 20% of the unsubstantiated amount on top of having that assessment thrown out.

Currently the exemption amount is over $11.2 million per taxpayer so a married couple can pass over $22 million without any tax.

For all you guys who don't want any taxes, that's fine as long as you are comfortable with no police, no roads, no schools and no military. Start learning Mandarin.
Yeah nevermind that all that money has already been taxed probably a half dozen times.. And I would be good with toll roads like we have here in Florida.

I know we need to study up on our Mandarin Cletus... your boy will ensure they are our masters.
