Ethnic Profiling

oh, we are talking about ethnic profiling, and i am returning to my original argument. throughout history people of white european ancestry have caused as much crap as anyone, including the muslims we should be profiling

They are not the majority of the ones causing it now. If they were I would hope like hell that I was searched more thoroughly than non-white people when getting on a plane.

When you see a guy driving to the airport on one of these is it profiling?

for starters, everything that is being argued. and if you want to play my arguments off as irrelevant you should most certainly think yours through a bit more

I asked an honest question and you come back with, "everything". Thanks for your insight.

enough of the back and forth stuff. you wanna know where i have the problem with your argument? we talk about ethnic profiling, you tell us athletes are profiled. thanks buddy, great argument. then you tell us how discrimination is not bad when you are keeping child molesters out of your basement, which is once again off topic. THEN to top it all off you have the nerve to imply that my argument is irrelevant. how very astute of you, i am impressed by the lack of time you have spent building a valid argument while attempting to shoot down all of mine with points that are completely off-topic. so, why don't you google it, and then get back to me.

Nope, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?
So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone because of profiling.

if it weren't for carlos the jackal, jose padilla, richard reid, tim mcveigh, terry nichols, eric rudolph, the michigan militia (it's just a matter of time), the IRA, the Nov. 17 group (i believe that is their name), the guy with the nerve gas in japan (can't remember his name off the top of my head either) and a plethora of others that have been outside of your spectrum i would agree. the problem is, the moment you start trusting ethnic profiling, is the exact moment that a bunch of disillusioned white kids from southern ohio kill 100 people. sorry buddy, you won't convince me.

I see what you're saying, but just because you turn your security more towards profiling tactics doesn't mean you have to give up everything else and do only that.

Ever wondered why Israel never has any airplane troubles?

Guru Shoko Asahara

Aum Shinri Kyo cult

There are plenty more groups than the above mentioned ranging from many different backgrounds and cultures.

What is the alternative to ethnic profiling?

Why are you knocking Ohio, we have the largest population of KKK members, somalians ,per capita, in the United States...............

Do we watch the somalians "more" because of their failed attacks on the Easton Town Centre or Polaris Fashion Place, or the KKK and their political power in Northeast Ohio, specifically Medina County?

Not off topic. The points I was making about "profiling" and "discrimination", is that these terms have been politicized and bastardized. Just because either of these two activities are performed does not mean that something bad has occurred. There are plenty of times when these activites are performed that people are ok with, they just don't realize it because the media or culture does not use these terms in anyway that would sound good. I doubt there is ever an instance you would hear the media use "discriminate" in anything other than a negative way. If you hear that term on the news it is automatically used in regards to someone being discsriminated against for a bad reason.

took you awhile. i respect your opinion, but i think you are wrong. i also think the point you are arguing is completely different from the one i am trying to make, but you don't see it that way. let's agree to disagree.
