No, he's bound by law under FERPA not to discuss injuries about athletes until the athlete or close family give consent. This could have remained a private matter for a long time but in this case the family intervened, likely in the best interest of all involved. Want to talk about the upcoming MLB draft? There are reasons these laws are made as we had a hard time getting info and updates about rae burrell's injury. It makes total sense once you stop and think about it. I think ESPN is trying to mitigate the Damage. Just waiting on the proper forum.
The worse thing about this is they are trying to carefully word and take action to get ahead of this situation.

My thoughts are that they are so far behind it is hard to mitigate. So doing nothing and trying to ignore it hoping it will not come up again is sad.

I don't expect a response today.....They are waiting and now digging into all the facts to get Tennessee on something...

Even though Evan has been cleared and available to play this evening, I don't think we can automatically assume that he will be back behind the plate or in the lineup. I think that would be a collective decision between Coach V, Evan, and his family. Whenever he's ready return, the response from Vol Nation will be through the roof.
