Even More Obamacare Follies

There are approx. 400k "taxpayers" who went through the exchange last year purchasing insurance, got the advanced premium tax credit, but did not file a tax return. If you get the credit, then you have to file a return to reconcile what the exact credit should have been (maybe you owe or get more refund). That means they are not eligible to go through again. So, I am expecting a law or procedural change shortly to let them off the hook somehow. Obama and the dems will push for abating failure to file and failure to pay penalties to make sure people can stay enrolled. One more reason for people who have been diligent in filing and paying to just say screw it...and maybe not be such good taxpayers in the future. The whole tax system has and is being corrupted with this socialized crap.

The left won't care about Obama funneling billions of taxpayer dollars to insurers to cover losses. They'll probably applaud him for it.

The insurers are getting fed up with it. The exchange is a total black hole, the people are incredibly sick and 20-30% rate increases aren't even enough to break even. Then the fund to mitigate risk can only pay out 12% of what it was supposed to. It's hard to chip in profits when every company loses. So that fund shortage screws insurers because that was the part of the promise Obama made to them to even get them to go along with it. Now many are rethinking their involvement in the exchange, and several have withdrawn plans in states. Who wants market share of a group of people costing you tens or hundreds of millions of dollars? I think you'll see the entire thing collapse under its own weight, over half of the gov't funded co-ops have failed and the others are not far behind. Once more companies pull plans from the exchanges the whole thing will fall apart. If the GOP is smart they'll leave it alone, it's going to die on its own so quit making useless gestures on the floor.

Step one complete. Step two: The vilification of the "greedy insurance companies". Enter Cankles.

Step three: Single payer system. Embrace socialism.

Yep.... The ACA was just an incremental step towards that.... It was written to drive premiums up, frustrate everyone and eventually get so bad that enough people submit to the socialist BS single payer system.

Waiting for LG to tell me this is all just right wing conspiracy.

President Obama doesn’t seem to care. On Feb. 12, the administration announced that the money will be handed out to insurers — a whopping $7.7 billion this year alone. But it’s not just expensive: That huge handout to the insurance industry is also illegal.

This is money you and everyone else who already has insurance are forced to pay, called a reinsurance fee. You pay the fee whether you buy your own plan or get covered at work, even if your employer self-insures. You may be clueless about it, but the fee is buried in your premium or taken out of your compensation.

The American people shouldn't have to pay this fee to insurers. Insurers should either drop ACA plans or raise premiums.

And it will get worse when the azzhole is out of office.

That's another thing that's gone right over the head of the average American. The law is such a POS that they've continued to push back the full implementation until that big Dumbo eared socialist married to a man/beast scumbag is out of office.

not really tied to Obama, but this is some liberal bs.

Harvard abolishes 'master' in titles in slavery row - BBC News

Harvard University in the US is going to remove the word "master" from academic titles, after protests from students who claimed the title had echoes of slavery.

too bad it more than likely draws its usage from back in the day when it was Master & Apprentice, and Guilds, long before America.
