And there will be others who gush over his ranking and beg for him not to leave for the NBA.
Once again, cuts both ways.

Hey, I hope he doesn't go the NBA either. I'll take 16.2 coming back next season. If Harris wants to stay I'll take that as well.
Kind of getting off topic here but I'm not a fan of NBA basketball and would love to see 4 year players again.
His mommy knows someone in the AD, he knows IA
As opposed to what? The myriad of "Why is poor Bruce being persecuted about some burgers and hot dogs?" threads or some of the gems that sprang out of your pal Forbes crying to Dancing With The Knoxville Stars Griffith about the internet conspiracy to destroy the the UT basketball program? This isn't much of a thread, but it's far from the worst thing to hit this forum in the last few months.Look at this thread that was started minutes after a win.
Jesus Christ So, if you're not just gushing with praise over a good scoring game against LSU, he's being treated unfairly? The acting like Hopson is above reproach mentality is the same approach that this staff has employed with him during his time here and is probably the reason he'll never reach his potential.
Now what would the chairman of the board of trustees that goes to church with you think about this?
Again. I really couldn't possibly care less if you believe that he goes to my church or not. I have no motivation to lie about it. So, these shots aren't having much impact. Better go back to the go-to gay jokes.
That's not really the point. The fact some people have had enough of a guy who has spent a good portion of his time at UT with the countenance of a five year old who just saw his dog run over by the garbage truck shouldn't come as a surprise to you. He's mentally soft. Period. That was the knock on him in high school and he hasn't matured. It's not hard to see where the frustration comes from. I realize this staff feels a real investment in him and a need to protect him. I also know there are a number of coaches around now who have accomplished a Hell of a lot more than the guys on our bench now ever will that would have run his ass off their campus long ago. That's not really saying much though.

Scotty Hopson is fastly making his way up on my most hated list of Vols.
1. Erik Ainge
2. Marcus Nash
3. Scotty Hopson
4. Robert Peace
5. Chris Hannon
But you can never change a guy's internal makeup. Ever. There is an expression involving Tigers and stripes that would work here, but I can't remember how it goes.
Anyway, I've said before that if you took JP Prince's assertiveness and injected it into Scotty Hopson, you would be left with one of the best players in the country (that guy would have actually already gone pro by now). But since we know that this is impossible -- that you can't simply morph a passive, soft guy into an assertive, tough guy -- what do you suppose should have been done with Hopson over the past three years? Are you suggesting that we would have been better off without him the last three years? That the coaches should have run him off? If so, I would disagree.
I agree with this to a point. While I agree that he's just always going to be a passive, soft player, I do think that the staff lets him by with lazy, nonchalant play. Unlike his personality, that can be fixed, imo.
I agree with this. And I actually just posted in another thread that if I were coaching this team I would make Scotty take the ball to the basket 5 times in the first 10 minutes of every game. The idea would be to make an attacking style habitual for him.
Just because of the way that Hopson played. It just pisses me off that he plays like this, and next game (sat) he'll probably act like he's never played the game before.. Why can he not do this every game.
