Expectations next year?

The bright side is Vol baseball seems to be leading college baseball into a whole new level of interest. Good to see.

We were behind on the curve, I reckon, but we’ve caught up. We need to build the thing he wants, I wish they would add some General Admission seats into the plan, but whatever it takes.

We aren't going to win at the same clip obviously, but there is every reason to believe that even with the big losses this team can be even BETTER than this year. Pitching is clearly the most important part of baseball, and we are returning essentially our entire Friday-Sunday rotation, an entire rotation I might add that was selected to be on the USA National Team.

I suspect with another year of seasoning, Burns/Dollander/Beam will be even better, and will likely be the top rotation in the entire country....again. Now, we're likely replacing anywhere from 6-8 of our starting 9, which will be tough, but even if we score fewer runs next year, our pitching will be so good that we'll still win 40+ games in the regular season.

It's hard to say if we'll be a Top-8 National Seed again, but I'll be shocked if this team isn't at least a Top-16 seed and hosting a regional next year. We're just returning too much.

Which would you rather have? Last year's team that went to Omaha and lost each game, or this year's team that was a blast to watch, was the unanimous #1 for most of the season, but lost the super regional?

I think it was a step in the right direction, and we very well could see improvement next year that will make us all smile!

We have to start caring about opponents stealing bases. That’s done us in two postseasons in a row now. We kept them in the game by giving up that soft run in the 2nd.

ND hurt us badly all series long with their baserunning. We had some very lucky catcher throwouts but not enough.

That's a hard one to choose. Both were a ton of fun to watch. I think both seasons probably were good experiences to building a strong foundation for the program.

Enjoyed visiting Omaha, but going 8-0 against Candygurls and jaytors is the winner. It was a lot of fun!

Given neither won a Natty, I would take this year. Sweep in Ole Miss, going 4-0 against Vandy, running our streak to 6 against LSU, sweeping FL (and that soul crushing rally). Being number 1 most of the year (and STILL #1 RPI..for whatever that’s worth), SEC regular season and tourney champs, etc. IMO, WAY more fun than last year despite the trip to Omaha (which truthfully, I would almost rather not go at all than to have last year’s performance there).

As a 21 year old pitcher, Blade needs to go to draft. Trey's stock isn't going any higher, so he needs to go.

JoJo might want to hang around and get a degree.

No one is playing another year of college baseball to “get a degree.” That makes no sense. You take the MLB money and use a smidgen of it to finish your degree, if that’s what you want.

Talked to Mrs. Dickey at SEC tourney. Jared's father is a teacher and wants him to complete degree before entering draft.

To be clear, I'm not talking about guys who are early round, big money, picks.

Going back to school after baseball sounds good. But, the vast majority never return to finish the degree. Life happens.
