Eyes on the Balkans

You still don't get it, do you? What business was it of NATO? These separatists movements in Georgia and Kosovo were directly on Russia and Serbia's borders, respectively. NATO inserting themselves in a cross-border dispute is not the actions of an alleged defense alliance. It is the actions of an interventionist alliance.

What business of it was Russia? How many times do we have to keep telling you Russia does not have a right to tell former Soviet bloc countries how to manage their affairs.

Those areas had either Russians, Russian speakers or people that identified with Russia in some manner. The same in Kosovo.

Still doesn't get them the right after the breakup of the Soviet Union. Those states became independent.
And they had people that within a blink of an eye were living in the same country one minute and separated into different republics the next. They had justification for wanting to be independent and Russia had justification for assisting.

On the other hand, WTF was the justification for NATO to bomb a sovereign country that they had no ties to or any connection to other than it being a purely interventionist activity for an alleged defense alliance?

They have the option of moving back to Mother Russia. Funny how most decide not too.

Ask your Serb buddies who were committing crimes against humanity.

That is unreasonable and you know it. These were newly formed republics. It was expected hat there was going to be some shuffling and transition period... assuming people are reasonable.

Ask your Serb buddies who were committing crimes against humanity.
Again, why was this a NATO issue? Explain to me why NATO felt the need to insert themselves in Kosovo, but not Rwanda? Explain why they didn't insert themselves in Cambodia? Not suggesting that NATO should have gotten in those interventions... I'm just wondering what the difference and significance was with deciding to act in Kosovo.

There are a lot of Russians in Brooklyn. Does Russia have the right to intervene there?
No.

I wonder if you people would say the same thing to Israelis that complain about being attacked by Arabs. Would you all tell them to go back to Europe if they don't like it?

That's really the whole reason we're still in Kosovo...Russia (IMO, just a dumb grunt though). There were Russian members at every meeting between Kosovo and Serbia ( I was there in 14-15).

Serbia and Russia are long time allies and brothers. Of course they are going to be involved.
