Fantasy Baseball Strategy Thread

Been awhile since posting in here.

Carlos Gonzalez has become a bona fide star this season. He and Votto and Pujols are battling for the triple crown.

Has he ( Cargo ) became a legit top 5 fantasy player in your mind?

I know I will be drafting him again next year.

Pujols, Hanley, Votto maybe Crawford are ahead of him... maybe one of the three 3B or Braun?

CarGo's 130 strikeouts to 20 walks still just worries me.

I think that will balance out. .337 avg 31 hr 95 rbi and 26 sb are better overall numbers than any of the others you mentioned.

Whether he can produce this type of season remains to be seen.

Indeed, I would actually look for a more proven pitcher than either one of them.

There has got to be a solid vet out there in your league.

Actually just picked up Kevin Slowey off waivers. He's a concern coming off injury but draws KC and Cleveland this week. I have Johan and Cliff Lee so injuries are hurting my pitching in the final two weeks before playoffs.

I had Cargo for a while this season but dropped him as he kept getting injured. :banghead2: I should have been more patient with him.

I've got a tough decision at 2B this week and it looks like games start early today for Labor Day so not much time to decide.

Neil Walker or Ryan Ryburn

Ry has been hitting for some power lately, still a toss up.

Cargo hasn't been hurt...not that I know of, pretty sure if he missed any time it was just day-to-day.

He has been a stud all year long and has kept me striking distance in my league.

Yeah, he has an "illness" but says he'll only miss a game or two at most. The Tigers play every day anyway and as far as Neil Walker, the Pirates are off one night this week.

I like that Ryburn will be at home every game this week also.

Yeah, it was earlier in the season he had a lot of day to day stuff around the time when he left for a death in the family. I jumped the gun on him, should have been more patient.
