City of God. Beautiful film of desperate, doomed young men living and dying the slums of Rio. The story draws you in and breaks your heart.

Didn't expect anyone to have already said it but this is my answer as well. For me, it's the single best all around movie I've ever seen.

Vegas and Noch? Well looks like I need to watch City of God.

As long as you don't mind subtitles I'm pretty sure it'd be right up your alley, and considering all the horror movies you watch I'm sure you've got to be fine with all the Asian subtitled ones so I'd recommend you give it a shot.

I don't mind them at all, some of my favorite movies (Ichi, Battle Royale, I Saw The Devil, etc) are subtitled. I saw it on Netflix a couple weeks ago, thanks for the recommendation.

Yeah man, let me know what you think.

If you like it there is also one called City of Men that is worth checking out too. Not a sequel character wise but from the same director and producer. Not as good as CofG but if you like the style it's still worth watching.

Will do, thanks again. This might make up for you crushing my dreams in the Banshee thread. Lol

The original Walking Tall..... Good call. The girl I dated in college was from that part of the state and her dad was on the HS BB team with Pusser. Knew him well

It's hard to just pick one. Ignoring all genres Army of Darkness is my absolute favorite of all time. But the thing is there are certain movies I can watch no matter what, over and over. I like to think those are my favorites of all time..such as:

Star Wars 4,5,6,7
The Thing
Return Of The Living Dead
Robocop
Conan
Back To The Future 1/2
Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
Grandmas Boy
Dumb and Dumber
40 Year Old Virgin
Tombstone
Platoon
Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Patriot
Last Of The Mohicans

But Army of Darkness..it has had the biggest impact on my life as weird as that sounds. It had zombies, Bruce Campbell, Medieval Knights, good sound track, amazing ending, and the one liners from Ash..man I basically quote that movie on a weekly basis..Groovy.

Return of The Living Dead lol..... I love that movie. I stumbled across that one higher than a kite in a hotel room in Gatlinburg. It was like a great Xmas present under those conditions.

Impossible to pick one.

Movies that I will stop no matter what I'm doing to watch (some are admittedly chick flicks):

Independence Day
A Few Good Men
An American President
It's a Wonderful Life
He's Just Not That Into You
New Years Eve
Iron Man
Breakfast Club
The Money Pit
Slumdog Millionaire
Ferris Beuller's Day Off
Dirty Dancing
Ghost

Oh. Yeah definitely a chick flick watcher.
