Childress

there's one guy i've seen live who reminds me of watching Chris Jackson in his prime -- and that player is Randolph Childress. I was at the ACC tourney when he juked a UNC player (Calabria), then pointed to him to get back up off the floor before burying a 3 in his face.

As a shooting guard, that is the equivalent of posterizing the other team's center, swatting a shot into the stands, etc.

That said, I also saw Vince return the favor to Wake two seasons later, I believe. Duncan was still there, as well as the 7-foot lanky center who transferred to zona (woods?). It was as if Vince were swinging from stage ropes that game - just seemed like he was alley-ooping from the free throw line every time down the court. It was entertaining.

Dana Kirk's MSU team of Andre Turner, Dwight Boyd, Vincent Askew, Baskerville Holmes, Keith Lee and William Bedford was my favorite non-UT team of all time.

I do remember that team - they were fun to watch. BTW, what great names - "Baskerville Holmes, William Bedford, Vincent Askew, Saxby Chambliss." Who'd they lose to in the NCAA Tourney? Wasn't that the same year NC State won it all?

College bball was sooooo good in those days - those teams + Houston with Phi Slamma Jamma, Louisville w/ the McCray bros and Ellison, UNC with Worthy, Perkins and Jordan, Ralph Sampson vs. Ewing, etc.

Obviously mine is Duke and Bobby Hurley, but I loved going to the Mini-Dome and seeing Mister Jennings, Calvin Talford, Major Greer, Jerry Phelphry and the rest during ETSU's heyday.

You know I'm a Duke fan, but I still can't stand Hurley. Big fan of Dawkins, Laettner, Hill, Wojo, Caple, Langdon, etc, etc, etc, but just couldn't bring myself to like Hurley. Ugliest jumper in Duke history.

His vision, passing and ballhandling skills were what drew me in.

There are lots of reasons to like him, I just couldn't do it, even after two titles.

But for him making a bunch of those ugly jumpers in the first half against Indiana in the '92 semis, it would be one title.

I get it, but still don't care for the guy. Be made some huge plays for Duke, but I just don't care to see him play.

Actually, it was Jeff McInnis not Calabria that took a seat. Here's the video ... YouTube - Randolph Childress Crossover

My favorite non-UT team was probably the mid 90's Syracuse teams.

-John Wallace and Co.

I have always liked Jim Boeheim as a coach and have always pulled for Syracuse.
