Reggie White was injured and not terribly productive for most of his career. He had a great final 3/4 of a Senior season. He was a tremendous pro, he wasn't as great a collegiate player.

That senoir season included 100 tackles and 15 sacks. He had 32 career sacks, also a school record.

It was good enough senior year to earn All-American honors and a good enough career to be inducted into the college football hall of fame.

There are a whole bunch of guys in the College Football Hall of Fame who used great pro careers to prop up merely good college careers. After the Auburn game in '83, he played as well for the rest of that season as any UT defender has ever played. However, his production in his first three years was decent at best.

No doubt in my mind baby AL WILSON is my favorite Volunteer ever. the man was and still is a beast.

2. Heath Shuler
3. Bill Duff
4. Reggie White
5. Craig Faulkner

I didn't like high big name guys really everyone liked them so I found guys I really liked their personality. Bill Duff man they quit interviewing him cause he'd say it like it was. he was a great interview man I miss him. Honestly when Peyton was here I though he was whiney. I still think he is. That face he makes when he doesn't complete a pass and does that thing with his hand to be like you should have went this way. I hated that so much man. god that riled me up for some reason.

That senior season must have been pretty great though. I can't really remember it, but Fulmer said it was the most dominant season he's ever seen by one player at any position.

It was exceptional. TCHFCATUTK could be right. It was an awesome performance. So awesome, in fact, that it has totally overshadowed the fact that he had three fairly pedestrian seasons leading up to it.

I began watching and paying attention to the Vols during the Peyton Manning years, so he'd be on my list. Other guys from those teams that I loved getting the chance to see play on TV were the likes of Marcus Nash, Peerless Price, Al Wilson, eventually Tee Martin, Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry, Travis Stephens, and so on.

Since my Dad is a Bengals fan, I heard a lot about the Munoz kid whenever he decided to come to UT. As disappointing and injury-plagued as his career turned out to be, I always had an interest in him for that, just for knowing and hearing about him somewhar before he came to UT.

Henderson and Haynesworth were my two favorites guys along with Stephens on the 2001 team. You kinda (obviously) add more and more players that you like through the years.

My favorites 1)Have to be from Tennessee. 2)They have to haved loved wearing the Orange and 3)not came out early for the draft. (God given talent is irrevalent).

J.J. McLeskey........small walkon played anywhere needed.

Jimmy Noonan........undersized noseguard, tough, gave 100% for a mediocre team

Lester McClain........Class with a capital "C". First black in SEC

Johnnie Jones.........TD run vs. Bama (call by Ward still brings chillbumps)

Eddie Brown...........tough as a nail, was willing to die on the field for the team

Shazzon Bradley......dyslexic, earned a degree and proved the doubters by hard work on field and in classroom.

Dale Jones.............lot of heart, undersized and not fast but had a knack of making game saving plays.

Bruce Wilkerson........a little recruited tall kid from tiny Philadelphia, Tn. became one of UT great offensive tackles

Joey Clinkscales........former Knoxville HS QB was money in the bank as receiver in the clutch

Larry Seivers............I can't recall him ever dropping a ball and was always double covered

Tracy Hayworth.........farm kid from rural Franklin county. nobody messed with Tracy, even the big DL'S were afraid of this quite kid

Al Wilson...................'nuff said

Jeff Hall....................winner

Bobby Majors............. a few of us on this board are old enough to have seen him play to appreciate him

Carl Johnson..............MEAN. bit an Arkansas player in a pileup after a fumble to make him release the ball so we could get the ball back and score the winning TD in a bowl game in the 70's

Justin Harrell...............(just added to list)came to UT as a project basically missed first 2 years with injured leg passed up possibly first round draft choice by not coming out after junior year to help his school right the program after last year.
