Favorite Vols of all time

Two that go on my list and the reason:
Ron McCartney - In the early 70's when Bama was in it's heyday, Bama ran an entire game using the wishbone running mostly to only one side of the field. When Bear was asked why after the game, his reply was that McCartney was on the other side of the field and he was running away from him.
Jason Mitchell - not because of his greatness as a player (and he was pretty good), but for his sacrifice of playing the entire season w/o surgery for the good of the team. That is the definition of a team player.

Peyton Manning naturally, I named my son after him. No it was not my idea, it was my wife's, but who am I to argue.

For some strange odd reason, I love Raynoch (Ray) Thompson!

I forgot Donte as well. The best thing about the play vs. Ohio St. is the John Ward Call..."Bill DUFF from the bottom of the heap!!!"

5. Chuck Smith and Chris Mims (tied) these guys hurt QB's every week
6. Reggie White
7. Terry Fair

9. Carl Pickens
10. Peerless Price
11. Travis Henry
12. Travis Stephens
13. Tee Martin
14. Todd Kelly
15. John Henderson
16. Dwayne Goodrich
17. Terry McDaniel - he was the only corner I have seen that could shut Jerry Rice down
18. Aaron Hayden
19. Shawn Bryson
20. Donte Stallworth

It's interesting to note that not many have Heath Shuler up there. Is it because of what he has done after his UT career? I know that is what has turned me off of him. Of course, I have Leonard Little and Dwayne Goodrich in my top players. How sad is that?

Al Wilson number one on my list. All others are a distant second. That guy singlehandedly won the Florida game the nat'l champ year. He motivated more than any other player we've ever had.

absolutely. al wilson is my favorite vol ever, even more than peyton.
