Fear the Walking Dead

just watched the finale... I can't believe I'm saying this, but that might be last last Fear show I watch. This season has been horrible.

It will be interesting to see how long this series lasts.

On one hand it gets about a third of the audience that TWD gets and the ratings went down as the season went on. But it still gets 4 million an episode which makes it probably the 3rd most watched cable program. So while it's low compared to TWD, it''s good compared to almost everything else.

All I can think about when I watch is Red Dead: Undead Nightmare. Mexico and zombies. Writing is all over the place. Celia hates all the new people but Nick. Madison says I want to learn and suddenly Celia just does a 180 and trundles down to the cellar with her. I noticed they did not show her in the mob at the end, I'm guessing she was not among them. Emo Chris is a whack job and drags his dad down with him, too bad that guy didn't kill them both with the pistol. I like the Daniel guy and that's really about it. I think the large family element was a mistake and that's why they've split them into three groups effectively. TWD works because people showed up in ones and twos and made a unit. Starting with six related people makes it hard to add new folks.

I stopped watching about midway through the first season when I realized Nick's mom reminds me way too much of Claire Dunphy.

I fear they had every intention of initially filming this in the US and then permanently moving production to Mexico. I could be wrong and hope I am otherwise they should have titled it "Fear The Walking Dead: In Mexico".

Planned on watching this just to have something while TWD was during the off season. Last season I really enjoyed it. This season completely took me out of it. I never even finished.

I'm really not that excited about it. I may be a little closer to it starting back up, but honestly there's too much good TV and streaming for me to get into this that much. I had high hopes going into this season but it's been pretty meh.

I mean Mr. Robot just started up and around the same time this comes back The Strain starts back up again on FX, and that's vastly superior to this IMHO.

I still haven't watched the last two episodes from the first half.

The show isn't bad but it's not exciting at all. May be a little zombie fatigue. Plus I'm not as invested into the characters the same way as I am TWD.

Well, the story line should definitely be changing. At the end of the first season and all of this season Strand's plan was to get to the boat and then sail to Mexico to the compound. Now that that whole plan is scrapped we should be in unplanned/uncharted territory especially with Travis and Chris being separated.

Doing some hiking or something?

Yup
Was hiking up some ski runs when I realized that I was trying to hike up a double black diamond. Had gone up over 1,00 vertical feet when I realized the hill went dtraight up..was a beatch just getting back down at ghat point...
Had a blast overall. Great trip! :hi:

Second 1/2 season starts tomorrow.
Really hope the action improves, as well as the acting.

Any bets on Mama Abigail and Daniel still being alive since they weren't actually shown being killed?

Funny/ironic that Strand has all the ladies and is very gay...

Looks like lots of Mexican drama this 1/2 season. Wonder where they are filming? With all the drug cartel activities in Mexico, I actually think that they would do well against the walking dead hordes. Fortified villas and heavily armed troops loyal to their Jefe...

:)
