Fear the Walking Dead

I became really bored and didn't even finish this weeks. Pretty much no interest in this or TWD. Just waiting on Outcast June 3

I do have to say I liked the Slingblade like way Chris was in the bedroom holding that knife.

What are you doing with that knife?

I don't rightly know, I just kindly woke up a holdin it.

This was the best episode of the season by far for me, and they're just re-hashing Herchel's scenario from TWD. Seems like weak writing imo.

They're going to have to come up with something interesting for me to really want to stick with the show. Chris' character flat out sucks. Most of the rest are just meh. Nick and Strand are the only two that are actually interesting. Daniel Salazar has potential.

I did laugh a bit on Talking Dead when Hardwick said "Yeah, it's kind of like the scenario with Hershel's farm on the main series"....no Chris, it's pretty much EXACTLY like the Hershel situation, except Hershel wasn't as batcrap crazy as this woman.

Sometimes I wish he'd get slipped some truth serum before the show starts and he could be 100% honest on what he thinks about the shows. I have a feeling in about 20 years he's going to write a book detailing all of it.

Yea. The praise he heaps on every episode is rivaled only by jimmy Fallon praise. He's a paid cheerleader for the show and it's cool. I think it would take truth serum though. He seems like a classy guy that wouldn't badmouth anyone's work. Talking dead is for the fans and the folks that watch it don't want to hear someone talk crap about a bad episode(s).

If i could get paid to to host a follow up show to game of thrones id do it.

Yeah I like him, he makes the show watchable.

Funny story, he was on Free Beer and Hot Wings and he said that the guy that is hosting the GoT after show on HBO said back in 2011 that the Talking Dead show was the "death of television" and completely trashed it. Hardwick went on about how he'd like to ask him now how he feels about after shows.

I've always thought the after show seemed a bit much. I only watch it when a major character dies (been awhile) just to see what the actor has to say about their time on the show.

Having said that... I do listen to a TWD after show podcast but it's not produced by AMC so it's a little more critical than Talking is.

I think if it were only a half hour with the premiere and finale episodes being an hour, it would work a lot better. Hardwick is entertaining and all but I think the perception of being a "cheerleader" comes from he has to fill an hour. That leads to questions and comments about things that normally he'd probably not even dwell on. He's kind of forced into questions like "What was so and so thinking when so and so happened", especially on nights when the episode itself was kind of slow.

I'm with some of you guys here. I'm not quite sure what I even watched Sunday night. The whole episode seemed disjointed and poorly written. It felt like certain things were literally thrown in for the shock and awe value. I'm not even sure what they're doing with Cliff Curtis' character. He seemed like a big character in the first season and now he's been relegated to that guy that just randomly speaks every now and then. It's almost like Nick has just magically gotten over his drug addiction because they've literally not even addressed it for just about the whole second season.

Nick was scared straight when he found the poison drugs and the little kid took them and died....

Not that my interpretation is any better writing wise, but they seem to have Nick now kind of seemed addicted to taking risks. He seems to get off on doing the dangerous stuff and walking among all the walkers and such.

Works for me. May be safer than drugs too.
He is the Glenn equivalent...

Nick, to me, seems like a "duck in water" in the zombie apocalypse. As one who could barely function in normal society, he seems miles ahead of the rest of the group as a survivor.

Strand, a con artist whose business is reading and manipulating people, spotted this early and was quick to recruit Nick to his cause.

Looks like the character of Chris is being used much like the writers used Andrea in TWD to stir up drama via irrational actions and behavior.

I find this very annoying because they do not make even the slightest effort to bring reason to these actions. Everyone acts on reason, even the insane.

We as the audience must simple except the fact that this person is breaking and we should just enjoy the ride and not ask questions - even though others in the group have experienced similar (or worse) tragedies and losses.

IMO, if they want us to believe Chris is losing his marbles, then they need to explore his situation in much more depth so we can get on board with it.

Chris and Daniel started having issues after Luis came on board...maybe he was drugging them. Now the villainess (can't remember her name) is continuing to drug them...
Just a thought

So what do you guys thinks?

Sans the mid season finale we got maybe 3 decent episode out of the first half of the season?

-The island episode with the survivalist family
-The sand dune, plane wreckage episode
-The episode where they are held captive on Abigail

So out of the six episodes that have aired there were 3 somewhat entertaining ones?

Do you count the one where Alicia and Travis reunite with the family episode somewhat entertaining?

3 of 6 being good/decent is probably fair. Overall it's been ok, but not as good as I had hoped.

I like the Nick character, Strand, and the old man is growing on me. Madison is ok but can be annoying, and the rest pretty much suck. The emo Chris storyline is stupid and forced, I knock them for blatantly copying Hershel's farm, and I thought the whole storyline with the bad guys coming to get them on the boat ended up being very weak. They set up Connor as being some Governor/Negan type and he ended up being a bumbling weak idiot.

This show has lost its way. There are so many aspects of it that seem completely forced and counter-intuitive. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to stay on board with this one.

Okay so every character that I start to like gets killed...Daniel was gonna be a main character for this series or so I thought...

Last night's show left me scratching my head. Did I miss something? Seemed way too easy to kill the villain.

We didn't see a body and he along with Gale Ann Heard was on Talking Dead but it didn't seem like we had seen the last of him. Remember all the other deaths of main cast members on TWD they always show the behind the scenes last day of filming clips and they didn't show that last night on Talking Dead.

I'm really enjoying the show more than I have TWD the last couple of seasons.

Chris has gone nuts and Travis isn't that much better! Who goes around in their sock feet in the zombie apocalypse?

Daniel is alive, he didn't kill himself in the fire.

His character is intricate and interesting to me. I now need to rewatch it. Admit that I fell asleep multiple times (just back from Boy Scout Campout)...

I just got to watch it last night, and yeah, I think Daniel is alive. You didn't see him die and Gale Anne Hurd on Talking Dead pretty much said he's not dead.

I find the whole Chris thing way too forced and him unraveling like that happened way too fast.
