These show runners seem to be distancing from their forebears...at least so far. Main characters die...and stay dead.
Also, Kim Dickens stated she did not ask to be killed off, this was a showrunner decision. I don't think she's mad or anything but she was just making clear it wasn't the same situation as Nick.
Mark my words: This show is done.
These showrunners literally just killed the show. If there was any chance at reviving it it's now gone. You can't kill two lead characters off a show in the first half of a season and expect anything good to come out of it.
This show will now hemorrhage viewers until it's straight up cancelled. Wait until the viewer numbers come in after the August 12th episode.

I think the zombie genre is just wearing thin in general.
Madison was a good character but not great. She made some dumb decisions that would give Rick a run for his money. Ill miss Nick more than her.
Youre overreacting. Theyre doing the polar opposite of TWD...no one is safe. If the writing and storytelling quality is there, the viewership will double.
The show already was trending down; they hit a series low before the mid season finale.
I'm not either. Just wait for it. It's not been renewed as of yet for a 5th season. Either this season or the next one will be it's last. I'll bet you money on it.
This is true. If they had a shot at improving those numbers though they just screwed the pooch.
Parent show is already following their lead and killing off Rick and Maggie...well after the time would have been more than right. I see TWD caving and Fear blazing forward. The network likes it and doesnt bow to hasty numbers. See EVERY SHOW since Mad Men.
They arent killing Rick and Maggie by choice. They actors chose to move along to other things on their own.
Im aware. Point is Fear is doing it before its parent show HAD to...or SHOULD have done long before. Practically different shows...almost like TWD was a trial run in what not to do. First two seasons of Fear were so meh that the third had to be great or I would have carried out the promise to bail that most threaten (but never carry out) against the original. They obviously have their best writing and producing talent on the young show now. Enjoying it.
