Fear the Walking Dead

I apparently didn't finish the entire episode the other day. So a zombie flying through the sky landed on the lock and chain that was holding the basement door closed and broke the lock? Why didn't she just use the one bullet she had left and shoot the chain though?

Did it break the chain? Or did it cave the door in and break the lock off the door?

I wasnt paying full attention. Just rolled with it.

Yep... full Morgan episode. Definitely following TWD formula. I was afraid we were going to relive this storm from everyone’s perspective for the rest of the season.

Was a decent episode though.

If this is how it's going to be, then just combine the shows. There is literally no reason to have this show anymore if it's just going to be the same thing as TWD.

The preview for next week looked like a lot more characters together. I don't think they're going to do it for the entire season like TWD did.

Lol at the idea that Morgan sleeps through an 18 wheeler going from Texas to Mississippi and not waking up the entire time.

In a hurricane no less. I thought that as well.

Very convenient that they stopped at a mile 4 marker so Morgan could escape those walkers too.

When I realized that's what they were saying happened I backed up a few minutes to make a sure I didn't miss something.

They had this show going in a decent direction but someone is messing it up.

I also thought the same thing. What I'm surprised by is how they got two somewhat known actors to jump on board the sinking ship. The black guy in the wheelchair is somewhat of a regular on NCIS New Orleans, and Jim the beer brewer is well known for playing in Nikita on the CW and most recently 12 Monkeys on SyFy.

My guess is it's only for the last half of this season. They'll either be killed off or will not stay with the main group.

So I found Morgan’s bo staff...it’s an oak walking stick by a company named Texas Walking Sticks. Was in a country store here and saw a shorter version of it...
Morgan’s staff is 5 feet long.
Just an FYI.

So this was a decent episode. My only big gripe is the woman ambushing Quinn with the walker. Like she could have kept it quiet right until the very last minute and he had no warning.

I don’t particularly care for June or Al so I found this one kind of boring. The nutjob woman is somewhat interesting.

I guess next week we will get the Strand/Jon/Luci episode.

This format is what turned people off of TWD. Have they learned nothing?

It started out as a boring paceless series and then suddenly last season they killed off Curtis and it became fascinating then they killed every character that made it so. Now we’re where we started.

This show has officially become TWD Lite. It’s following the exact same formula and rehashing scenarios we’ve seen over and over.

Also a part that I found pretty dumb and another example of things happening for convenience, the scene with the air horn. It was attracting walkers into the water until the battery died, then when it stopped the walkers instantly stopped and turned around. The problem being is they've established in the past that things like a gun shot or other loud noises will draw walkers but in that one instance suddenly the noise had to be constant, otherwise the walkers get ADHD or something and immediately lose interest.

Don’t forget the conversation about not everyone knowing how to drive these big trucks yet both Quinn and Crazy Woman have been able to handle the SWAT van no problem.

Also Al said the van is sluggish but she couldn’t catch it in a small car the episode before.

The air horn honestly bothered me. I can remove myself from a lot of the plot holes. But they have started walker hordes with less.

Just last season the one ranch brother started a horde by shooting off the grenade launcher. It wasn't like once he stopped shooting they just turned around.

I think they have ruined this show by making Morgan the lead all of a sudden. There was its fair share of dumb in the previous seasons but it was really starting to come into its own toward the end of last season.

I know the actor playing Nick wanted out but losing Madison and relegating Strand and Alicia to 3rd fiddle has made me lose interest.

The story's gone downhill hard this year. It's like they hurriedly tried to throw something together to make up for losing Madison and Nick. Didn't Gimple come over to FWD not long ago?

Not following the rules for walkers is dumb though. How many times has one little noise drawn a freaking crowd of walkers in the past that won't go away. And we're supposed to believe they'd just turn around and walk the other way when the battery cut out on that loudass horn? No.

This show is about to be relegated to something I put on while I fold clothes.

Plus it's clear they either don't have a great direction they want to take this, or they have a small story that they once again are trying to stretch over 16 episodes. I've long argued both shows should be cut to 10-13 episodes, but this season of FWTD I think they've struggled to have 8 episodes worth of story.

With Morgan, they just keep having him do the same things over and over. The same walk around, get into the same situation, give the same speeches to people, and then have the same internal struggle. Heck you have more than 1 on the show doing this, with June giving the same "You don't have to do this" speech. And that's with the same crap already happening mulitple times on the main show, we're now drowning in the same stale scenarios over and over. There's only so many times you can keep going to that, yet that seems to be all Gimple can do now.

Morgan has been one of the biggest wasted characters in the entire franchise.
