Are they doing a short six episode season for year one like they did for TWD?

They were approved 2 seasons up front. I don't know why they would only film and air 6 episodes. Anyway...

Here is a brand new video about the show.

Article I read (sorry no link) stated that the six hours run like an extended movie and properly introduce the new characters. I think "it simply worked the first time and we ain't changing!" Would have been better.

Does anyone get the feeling they'll have this one too "hollywooded" up with the bigger named actors and simply being filmed in LA? I just get the feeling it won't be the same as the original, not as campy if you will.

I think they'll insist on good writing and without a graphic novel as a blueprint, there's room for a lot of creativity. This franchise can branch out to an infinite number of locales with potentially unique scenarios to deal with. London? Tokyo? Little Elm, TX? These actors are recognizable but hardly stars...Michael Cudlitz is a bigger name than any of them and he's just fit in seamlessly on the original. The writing will make it work or not work.

Oddly I'm familiar with three of the actors on Fear The Walking Dead: Cliff Curtis, Mercedes Mason, Elizabeth Rodriguez. On The Walking Dead I was only familiar with Scott Wilson. That probably has a lot to do with the certain shows I choose/chose to watch though.

I'll agree that not having a blueprint definitely allows for creativity but at the same time you could argue that not having a blueprint could allow for too much deviation leading to an incoherent and choppy story line. That said, it's zombies so maybe I'm trying to analyze it too much.

Hopefully Fear the Walking Dead will finally answer the question, "what's in your he-ed, in your he-y-e-ed, Zombie ei ei ei ei..."

I don't think that, I just think they risk over-saturation with having the shows on at the same time. Well not the same time of the year, but both shows still going. Like if they had Better Call Saul on while Breaking Bad was still making new seasons.

Except for the "Pilot" its being filmed in and around Vancouver.

CW's The Flash & Arrow also film in Vancouver as well as the upcoming return of the X-Files just to name a few.

If they stagger the show's schedules as in have Fear The Walking Dead on during TWD's off-season I think it'd be great.

As for shows of a similar nature being on at the same time it's not been a problem for me personally. I've watched all 3 different CSI's (Cyber not included) when they were on as well as the NCIS's that are on. Each of those shows despite their themes had their own feel to them, their own signature, in my opinion, so I don't think it'll be an issue in that aspect.

So crossover with the Arrow would be fun.
I think The Flash would be bored with slow Walkers... :)

Halt and Catch Fire ends on Aug 2. So I'm going to predict the first FTWD episode will be August 9.

I first wondered why they named some girl Nick.

Seriously though, is this guy running from a meth zombie?

Remember this is when the outbreak first starts. No one knows how fast the walkers are yet...I'd probably haul ass initially too! :gone:

Naw, I'd quickly reference my zombie movies and TWD episodes and assume they slow zombies. Though this might prove to be a life threatening assumption as well.

I thought it was a woman too. That sweater he has looks like a woman's; though if he left in a hurry he may have been with a woman and grabbed the first shirt he saw.
