I've looked and have not even seen it mentioned. And all the recruits keep saying they are coming the 27th. Jabriel Washington told VQ last night that he would be here the 27th.

Gotya. Its likely that they were discouraging more uninvited guests by telling me it had been moved. Kinda slimy though (IMO), I'd much rather them have told me that the athlete I was referencing was not invited. Do you know the specific rules regarding Spring and Jr day being invite only?

not sure. they always invite a ton of juniors up to the Spring Game too. i remember a bunch (Quarles, Mason, etc) being at last years' game. they may try to split them up up so they can spend more time with the prospects. they may be treating it as a 2nd Junior Day without it being official.

sounds like you definitely got an invite to the O&W game and fwiw, the Spring Game was alot better for our recruiting than Junior Day last year.

Yeh that makes sense. He's close to Nashville and will be at Vandys Spring Ball for sure. He's a legit prospect.A bit under the radar. Not saying he ends up in the SEC, but IMO his stock will rise substantially by the time his sr year rolls around.

I asked about the attendance of Jr days bc I found it funny that I've been on the phone with 30+ schools this week and UT is the ONLY school that was ADAMENT that JR day was NOT INVITE ONLY. They were noticably promoting the OPEN ATTENDANCE policy, while some said its not but essentially is, and others flat out said its DEF by invitation only. Made me curious.

glad to hear about the Philly LB. I hope we stock up this year and get set up to move to the 3-4. Of course we'll need a huge DT or two as well

And four or five larger ends, and another four or five larger linebackers..........

Dooley has already said we are going to be a base 4 down lineman defense

why would CDD bring in a DC who's entire defensive existence has been based on running 4 man front base defenses?

it just doesnt add up, thats like hiring Dick Lebeau to be your DC and telling him u want to go away from his 3-4

What's the fascination with the 3-4? Dooley said the base defense will be a 40 of some type.

He said we will run a base 40, true. Go watch film on Boise State. They ran a lot of 40 but it was usually a 4-2-5 and that was to cover the spread offense. We will still be multiple. Wilcox used a ton of defenses at BSU. 4-2-5, 4-3-4, 3-3-5, 3-4-4, 5-2-4, etc.

I like seeing the in state talent on this list. It sets a precendent and also might lead to a more stable class.

Take the quality TN talent, and fill the majority of the rest of the class with regional studs, then cherry pick the rest of the country.

I'm really looking forward to the 2011 recruiting class. I'd love for our coaching staff to stay in place, all of them, for a whole cycle and into 2011. That will be refreshing.

Everyone should remember that this is just one Junior Day. We will still bring in recruits for the O and W game as well as have multiple camps. Just because a kid doesn't get invited for this day doesn't mean we aren't interested.

SC OL Jason Rexroad said he may be coming up for Junior Day but he is not sure. You can add him if you want.

LV, Sab, Eric, or anyone else want to take a stab at which ones out of those visiting might eventually get offered?

I think they all already have an offer except for Kerbyson, Robinson, Michael Johnson, and Rich.

Out of those 4, I think Kerbyson has the best chance to receive a UT offer.

At the top of the recruiting forum (sticky) there is a list of players we have offered... Some of the players will have to be further evaluated...getting these kids in for Jr. day can lead to them coming back for summer camps where the coaches can have a lot better feel for the players...

How about the big kid from GA- Dantzler. He seems like a no brainer for JR Day?

I'm sure Dantzler has an invite. I just haven't seen any articles say he is coming.

There will be a bunch of guys who come for Junior Day that will not have articles saying they are coming.
