Federal Indictment of Donald Trump

My first thought as well; how did this stuff get out of compartmentalization and end up at a gaudy hotel in Florida? I now the messenger always gets shot here first, but I'm just passing along reporting.

That remains question 1. WHY ON EARTH DID HE TAKE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?????

This is followed closely by question 2. WHY NOT JUST GIVE IT BACK WHEN ASKED ?????

There is still zero explanation from the Trump camp on that. Just a lot of maligning the motives of the law enforcement community who dared act to stop whatever the fick was going on here.

the frump pants dude was asked to give it back, and when he didnt a librarian went after him and was right. This librarian stores national archives, meaning we own them. We really want to know WHERE they are.

No clue, ask his supporters if you are a fan of gymnastics.

where are the missing files?

I'm assuming there is some kind of coding that tells the responsible agency what the subject matter was. Trump will soon claim that as far as he knew there was nothing missing from them.

Uh huh. That's why he kept them. That's why he didn't place them in the storage area where they could be monitored. Inside his sock drawer is plenty safe for the highest of security information.

Why didn't they immediately seize the documents in June? They waited a whole five days to ask the secret service to put an additional padlock on the door.
They could have quietly told him you are not allowed to have these documents and seized them. Why the big show of a raid?

I don't want him to run again. This raid will be in his first campaign video.

These docs were out for 18 months. So that changes things a bit.

They gave him several subpoenas to return the files and he refused. They tried to get warrant and the judge refused the first time, then a new witness came forward and told them where to look. That's when the judge gave the ok.

Revisionist history. They asked for the documents to be returned repeatedly, over a period of many months. The "drama" of the raid is entirely Trump's fault for continuing his unlawful possession of the documents.

They did not ask for specific documents to be returned after the first 15 boxes of presidential papers were returned in Jan. The FBI didn’t even know classified documents were supposedly missing until the archives notified them some were discovered in their review of what was returned.

So the biggest question is how didn’t the .gov know they were missing and exactly what was missing?

And WHY??????

Most recent reporting is that some of them contained top secret assessment of an unidentified third country's defense posture and nuclear weapons assessment. If so, what possible justification could there be for Trump to have taken such documents and then refused to return them?

How could the custodian of those documents not know they were missing for over 18 months? The .gov didn’t’t know he he had them.

You can ignore the facts all you want: the DOJ kept asking for the documents back. Trump repeatedly refused.

There must be some reason. Embarrassing to him for some reason? He planned to provide them to the Russians aune he actually did)? He planned to sell them or blackmail someone? Maybe it's as simple as it made him feel like a big shot to have them and maybe tell people he had them.

That last one.... tell me that doesn't ring true with what you've seen of Trump.

It actually started in Feb when the archives inventoried the 15 boxes of documents Trump returned in Jan.
It took seven months and a political theater raid to retrieve these vital documents.

People need to get past the Trump hate and look at what happened. A potential political rival's house was subject to an unnecessary FBI raid. All could have been handled quietly. This backfired.

No, the government was not asking for those documents back.
