By that logic every criminal defendant or suspect can demand court intervention to stop the investigation "just in case" something seized shouldn't have been. Think about that for a bit.
The DOJ has already said that among the records they took were medical records, bank records, tax records and attorney/client privileged records. Sound like to me the DOJ is in for a whole lot of butt hurt over this 4th amendment violation.I don't think Trump has asked the court to stop the investigation, just that an independent 3rd party review what was seized. What would that take 2-3 weeks at most? The DOJ fighting the special master is more of a delay than if they would have just acquiesced.

Yes he did and the court stopped the investigation while the special master reviews the material.
And whatever the result, Trump will file motions and appeal. And ask that the stay be continued. The judge is going to be in a tough position. She granted the initial stay, but she will need an actual reason to continue it -- speculation and crying foul that the DOJ doesn't like Trump, won't do. An actual concrete reason specific to some document will have to be offered.
If she does continue the stay on that basis, roughly a month from now, I would definitely expect the DOJ to take an appeal of that order, even if they don't appeal right now.
In the case of Trump, justice delayed is his whole game plan for justice denied.

My real concern here is... where the hell is the missing documents knowing that frumpy pants likes to use things like that for payments? I.E. the horse story.
Donald Trump once tried to pay a lawyer with a horse, new book says
I need to know where those documents went because they are American citizens property held by the National Archives, and top secret classified material.
Well the gov was able to go through it all before the judge ruled so I'm guessing a good half day.I don't think Trump has asked the court to stop the investigation, just that an independent 3rd party review what was seized. I am sure Trump wants it hanging out there into election season next year. . Brilliant.
First, he does because the alternative may well be getting charged with criminal conduct. In fact, given all the circumstances that seems like a near certainty -- unless the DOJ is coopted in the interim by a Trump allegiance-pledging house plant.
Second, he can use it to rally his base. Continue the vague mantra of the government being the enemy. Fund raise off of it.
Either way, Trump is far better off pushing this as far down the pike as possible.

This is going around social, but a short way to describe it.
basically trump robbed a bank, and they went to his house and found the money.
Trump goes "that's not real money, I want a special master to look at every bill and determine if its real, and I am going to assign the master general to do it."
But It's not even his money in the first place. By having it he is already guilty.
What was funny to a lot of the legal guys was that by asking for a special master, you admit that the documents are real in the first place.
That was until this Cannon judge came along. It's not funny anymore. It means that the evidence that was legally obtained and collected for a criminal case is no longer available to the LAW. It means he has temporarily taken it out of their hands, and who knows who's hands they will wind in with trumpettes beholden to him in hidden corners. There is a good chance this judge just committed obstruction.
I would never say such a thing to a cult grown wife of the supreme court you red sparrow bootch.View attachment 487366
