Federal Indictment of Donald Trump

... or maybe we realize that the current FBI Director, Christopher Wray, is a Trump-nominated Republican. Therefore, we will wait for some public disclosure concerning the content of the documents seized during the raid at Mar-A-Lago.
Did trump appointed Christopher Wrays investigate Hunters criminal dealing or their connection to Joe? If not then he is appointment by Trump means Jacks Squat....not saying he is favoring dems but he is defiantly choosing job security.

The current Director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, is a member of the Republican Party, who was nominated to the post by then-President Donald Trump in 2017.

That is an inconvenient fact to this narrative that, "This is just another politically partisan witch hunt by the Democrats."

Christopher Wray is not a Democrat. His nomination in 2017 was confirmed by a Republican-led Senate, with votes from Trump allies such as Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio and Josh Hawley, who all spoke glowingly of him at the time... and we have this quote from President Donald Trump in 2017, as well :

"We will have a great FBI director. I think he's doing really well and we're very proud of that choice. I think I've done a great service to the country by choosing him. He will make us all proud, and I think someday we'll see that and hopefully someday soon."

-- President Donald Trump, spoken during a speech while visiting France in 2017

All true but it still doesn’t excuse what just happened. If you put the shoe on the other foot it’s still unprecedented and wrong.

It’s clear this government is corrupt and attacking political opponents. How does this go in 2024 if Trump wins and starts using the power of government to attack Democrats?

It boggles the mind that every single person in this country isn’t cringing at such a public display of political power using our 3 letter agencies in the last several years . I don’t care what tribe you vote for , the unlimited power of a federal agency going after anyone should scare the hell out of everyone . Trump is a billionaire and able to keep his head above water ( so far ) any of us would be beyond screwed to a point that our families would never recover from . Unless you are a Woman’s basketball star , or at least a multimillionaire , you wouldn’t even get a headline in the local news .
That is absolutely ridiculous.

Analysis: 4 things to know about the FBI search of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate

You do not know that the FBI exhibited "unlimited power" during the execution of this raid. In order for this raid to have occurred, a judge must have determined that there was probable cause that either a crime was committed, or that Trump was illegally in possession of items taken from The White House. The FBI's request for a search warrant might also have indicated concern that these documents would either be moved off the premises or destroyed.

You are concluding way too much, from very little information. You want to believe that the FBI has overstepped their bounds... and so that is your default response.

We don't yet know why the raid was conducted, or what was removed from Mar-a-Lago.

That is absurd logic. Up until now, members of the Republican Party, including Donald Trump, have expressed nothing but complete confidence in the credentials and competency of Christopher Wray as the FBI Director.

Really? The use of power against opponents has been cheered forever. These agencies have been given the ability to act outside of the constitution by our lawmakers yet they keep getting sent back to their plush offices in DC. The people need to realize they have and will continue to enable this until it's too late or they vote to fix it. In this battle of wits I'm unfortunately taking DC.

It’s already too late to be fixed at the ballot box.

We don’t and hopefully they announce that very soon. People will lose faith in our institutions because of actions like this.

And it’s hard to argue he’s not a political opponent when he just raided the home of a former US President while working for a government ran by that presidents chief political opponent.

We’ve seen people just following orders, turning on politicians, and deception by people in power before. They needs to get out there and make a clear and reasoned defense on these actions. If anything just to show transparency to the American people for what just happened.

It's not hard to argue that at all, when you consider that Christopher Wray is a Republican, who was nominated to his post by Donald Trump... and when you also look at the totality of positive things which Trump has had to say about Wray in the past.

Once again, for this raid to have been executed, a judge must have determined that a crime had been committed. Let's wait and see who that judge was ... what happens if he is also a Trump-appointed Republican? What happens if it is determined that Trump was in possession of some items at Mar-a-Lago that had been illegally taken from The White House? There are a lot of questions here, which you aren't waiting to be answered. You have already made up your mind that the FBI's actions were an overreach. We simply don't know that yet.

I’m willing to hear their justification. I’m not a political hack who worships Trump. I just simple do not trust the current administration to act fairly towards him. I’ll let them change my mind but they are going to have to really show something special.

I haven’t concluded anything about the mar-a-lago raid yet , other than the FBI had better find something real this time , not this possible , maybe , probably or stuff , or they will lose what credit they had left as an agency that’s supposed to be neutral . My default setting is not to trust our government , I’m not a celebrity nor a billionaire, I can’t afford to hire a law firm to defend me or have the MSM tell everyone how unfairly I’m being treated . Anyone even near my pay grade that doesn’t have that mistrust of our 3 letter agencies to do what’s right , just isn’t that bright .

Understood... but I don't remember such concerns over fairness being expressed by the legion of Republicans / Conservatives / Trump supporters on here, when then-President Donald Trump was using his Twitter account to urge his Attorney General, William Barr, to investigate the Bidens during the height of the 2020 Presidential Election campaign. Wasn't that a pretty clear example of a President attempting to use the DOJ to target a political opponent? There is some Republican hypocrisy at work here. The only Republican member of Congress who was ever publicly critical of Trump for doing that was Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska.

"The FBI has arrested Melania Trump for plagiarizing Paula Deen's banana pudding recipe. The FBI found the recipe amongst the 15 boxes of documents seized in August . The former First Lady was trying to pass off the recipe as an old Yugoslavian family favorite. CNN analysts believe this should prevent her husband from holding office ever again."
FBI even searched Melania's wardrobe in Trump raid
Told you!

"Despite the sweltering 91 degrees temperature Monday, Trump’s lawyers were forbidden by the feds to shelter inside the cool lobby, or to observe the search in any way, but were left outside in the baking sun near a parking lot.

The feds instructed Trump’s representatives to switch off the security cameras but they refused."

Sounds legit.

Is is normal for the FBI/Police to not allow a suspects attorney to observe a search?

It can't ... unless a judge determines that there is probable cause that we have broken the law.
BB, and I mean this without disrespect, you either have not lived very long or led a sheltered life from the not-so-pretty-side of the world. You do not want to get in the cross-hairs of people with the power of the government behind them. Our system is fairly good; in fact compared to the rest of the world, our Bill of Rights is Second to none. But injustice still happens. Prosecutors, bureaucrats can decide to take a dislike to you and make your life a living hell and break you financially.

The criminal justice system is not much more than an industry currently designed to "manage" the problem: not let it get too big, but essentially "farm" a segment of the population so they have plenty to harvest.

Again, I have not meant this in any way to demean or belittle you, but I think your statement indicates a certain level of naivety.

This is what I fear. Have things gone too far and we are inexorably heading down the path towards a civil war? How close are we? Within 20 years? 30 years?

Those in power are arrogant enough to think they have control over it and can maintain the status quo, but the election of Trump proved they were wrong. I do give the left credit for one thing: they have realized they cannot ignore the military and are taking steps to gain control over it and the police. The top brass of the military now is filled with woke liberals and they're moving fast to reduce the conservative bent of the rank and file and field-grade officers. I believe that is what all the Defund the Police was about; they were sending a message to those in law enforcement to play the game their way.
