Employees always think the small business owner has all the money he needs and doesn’t do S for his employees ....it’s a common sentiment..... why don’t you put your ass on the chopping block?..... bust your rear and take the risk of starting your own business? ..... worry about keeping the doors open and all of your employees “employed”?......I worked for small businesses for several years. I never understood (other) small businesses that did what you describe.
Sure, I get dropping a quick 50K on something so you can buy something instead of losing it in taxes. I get that. By why not give it out in bonuses to your employees then buying something that you dont really need?

Sure, and if the public doesn't agree with how their tax dollars are spent, they'll hold the politicians accountable. His miss here is that it's not the companies money. It's the shareholders money. And if the shareholders don't agree with how their money is spent then they will hold the board accountable.
Please show me where I was equating government to private business. I did not at any point. You were complaining about executive compensation, luxury box purchases, and golf club memberships. I was merely pointing out you were misguided for even worrying about it.Sure, and if the public doesn't agree with how their tax dollars are spent, they'll hold the politicians accountable.
Works (or doesn't work) exactly the same way.
My whole point was equating it to government. Please show me where I was equating government to private business. I did not at any point. Thanks for disproving Carl's post for me.

He said 47% don't pay s***, and that is absurdly untrue.
Your link had it at 32% for the latest year and then there is this important piece from your link........
Those paying no federal income taxes may still owe other taxes. The Tax Policy Center has estimated that about 65 percent of those who pay no federal income taxes still owe payroll taxes, and that refundable tax credits completely offset the payroll tax for only approximately 9 percent of households.
So 65% of that 32% actually do pay payroll taxes. So now we are down to 20%. I guess they are just lucky to be in the lowest quintile.
And even that 20% is still paying some sales tax; so the more accurate comment for Carl would have been "0% don't pay s***."
Oh good grief. The point is that there is a significant number that don't pay federal taxes you twit. Thanks for disproving Carl's post for me.
