Ferguson Riots

How do I not understand the term likely. There's a line of cops in front of a building. Bullet misses intended target in the crowd. Therefore it will likely hit something behind the target....such as the cops.

You assume the target was in the crowd.

You believe the majority of surface area behind the "supposed" targets was comprised of the bodies of cops?

I'm just seeing if his story works, and actually it does. Based on the information we were given

You're just assuming this man is a military trained sniper.

I'm assuming you're an idiot as usual.

And you're pretty much proving that assumption correct.

Behind them, yes. And I imagine no one was within 6inches to a foot of the target (which is a reasonable range to miss), if that's the case the bullet would have to go behind the target.

I'm also assuming that the police were standing in something close to a line parallel to and in front of the building (based on the fact that they were there to protect the building and people inside the building in case something broke out.

Both are very reasonable assumptions.

Because I showed you how his story makes more sense than the idea of this man being a super ninja sniper trained by Eric Holder to kill cops?

Where the **** did I ever state this was a DOJ cover up or anything of the like?

Stop before I really make you look foolish.

The story doesn't make sense based on the distance of 140yds. To get a headshot on a target at that distance with a pistol you would have to aim almost a foot over the targets head. And nobody trains at that distance unless they're trying to do some kind of trick shot.

The problem is most places don't do ballistics tests and drops from a pistol length barrel for pistol cartridges. So the foot drop is pretty much a guess on anyone's part since round type, grain weight, barrel length and construction play into it far more than a rifle barrel.

Two hits on two separate targets at 120 yards is a trick shot. I'm with LG, I'd bet the shooter was way closer.

If it actually went down the way dude has described it he'd have been much better served buying a lottery ticket...odds seem similar. Possible? Hell, anything's possible, but accidentally hitting a couple cops 100+ yards away while shooting at some other person? And that's not even taking into account the galactic WTF involved with undertaking your little attempted murder in front of a police station.

Seriously though, do you believe this guy hit his targets or not? Because you seem to believe he's some sort of super sniper, right?

My stance the whole time has been that he probably wasn't aiming for the cops. So I'm not claiming the shot was intentional.

Or this wasn't his intended target.

Well, let's see...

You're saying he likely missed his intended target, likely missed everyone else in the crowd and likely by chance hit two separate cops that likely weren't standing shoulder to shoulder?

That makes way more sense than being closer than was reported and intentionally targeting the cops. I'm glad you made this so clear to me.

I'm simply saying the story reported could work. You're changing the current information to fit your own narrative.

And depending on the depth of the crowd, it's very possible that the bullet missed everyone in the crowd. And I'd say the cops were very likely standing nearly shoulder to shoulder.

I'd say you just need to stop while you're so far behind. With those that know a bit about firearms and ballistics my counsel I'll keep.

If I'm so obviously wrong, then explain.

So me trying to break it down to you, a person that's already made their mind up as to what happened and how it all went down, would be redundant on my part.

Read the thread, the answers are there.

You claim to be a math teacher of complicated theorems and algorithms and what not ..... Do the math..... guy shoots into a crowd.... Somehow he misses everyone except....wait for it...... Two Ferguson cops that everyone is protesting and showing their hatred of.....what are the odds?

I've not made my mind up. I'm simply going off the current information.

You're changing information to fit your own views.

Depends on the density of the crowd and the location of the target. But if the crowd isn't overly dense or the target is near the back, it makes perfect sense that a miss (which is highly likely given the distance of the shot), would hit something behind the crowd (which is where the police were standing.

Maybe dude was just popping off shots in the general direction trying to look like a bad azz in front of his friends, and got astronomically (un)lucky
