Ferguson Riots

This story is in my local paper today & it says the young man was shot 8 times. Why did it take that many shots when you can shoot once in the leg or arm?

Glad to see you admitting support for riots, property damage, and looting.

I didn't support anything.

I just asked you a question, which you didn't answer. Let me try again.

How many peaceful protests in the last 40 years ever amounted to anything?

How many peaceful protests in the last 40 years of this country ever amounted to diddly squat?

We're having a shooting & killing crime wave here by young black men killing each other & they march each week in a certain part of town. Guess what? Those marches for the violence to stop killing young people is NOT working.

When will the media tell us these rioters were displaced by Katrina. They have experience in this protest.

If I change the 40 to oh 55 years then the answer to your question changes dramatically

Thank you for making my point.

Peaceful & non-violent marches may have helped in a big way in the early to late 60s to change some domestic policy but when Martin Luther King was shot & killed in Memphis of April 1968 all bets after that were out the window from there.

Both the police attackers and the police defenders are, once again, jumping to conclusions, based on speculation, incomplete facts, and preconceived notions about the young man who was shot and the officer who shot him.

Its like sitting down to a jigsaw puzzle with 1,000 scattered pieces, all face down except for 2 of them, and surmising on those two what the picture is.

Actually, the vast majority of the people here so far are not jumping to conclusions.

First off, the 8 shots seems pretty excessive. However you don't just shoot for an arm or leg that's stupid, anyone with any training will tell you that you aim center mass.

When I shoot, I shoot to kill. That, or to get you to see that I'm obviously angry with you.

So you're telling me that Hollywood is wrong when it shows people being able to shoot others in the arm/legs easily? :)

No, obviously the further away you are the easier it gets.

At least that's what they taught me (cross thread points?)

For the millionth time, use of a firearm is always considered use of deadly force, and when an officer believes he needs to use deadly force, he fires to completely eliminate the threat.

If an officer is firing, he is shooting to kill. Not wing him. Ever.

You must develop lawyer-speak.

"Shoot to render the target incapable of continuing the act which led me to apply deadly force in the first place."

It looks like the VN police "attackers" here are waiting on the facts.

Lesson to be learned from this, don't attack a cop.

From most accounts, the initial attack took place inside the vehicle. How did the young man get in there to begin with?

Furthermore, several reports state the individual pushed the cop back into the cruiser as he was getting out and prohibited him from departing the vehicle.

More questions that need answers.
