Dobbs or Ferguson?

I think it will be Ferguson. He was a winner his whole HS career. To paraphrase he has said 'All I know is how to win'.

Fergie may be a winner (NC) but Dobbs played against better competition (GA). Dobbs was rated a lot higher at the super 11 qb camp and is physically ready, Fergie doesn't have a SEC body.

That is the most over used sh;t on here. Tebow was a damn winner in college and how did that work for him in the pros. "All I know is how to win" yeah until you meet a real SEC defense. What a croc of sh;t! Idk who will be the beter fresh, but im tired of hearing this he only knows how to win crap.

All I know for sure is Worley is not the future of Tennessee football. Pretty sure he won alot in high school too!

Truth is, I'm happy to have both Ferguson and Dobbs. There is no reason to argue about who we think is the better QB, as none of us will be making the choice of whom will play, but I guess that's what is done on a forum. It will play out as to who will perform better and we will see who has what it takes and who doesn't. If we're lucky we have 2 freshman studs in our stable. In my opinion I do think we stand the best chance of winning with one of the two freshman. I have had both as my avatar and have the one as my avatar right now that I have heard has been performing better. Does that mean he will get the nod against the Gators, no? I do hope CBJ sees this as an opportunity to get one or both of these freshman some valuable SEC and game experience for our bright future. Keep your heads up VOL fans! It won't be long before we are back winning championships and that starts now with a winning attitude. One that CBJ is trying to instill in each player on a daily basis. You too should have a confident and winning attitude as a fan. For it is contagious, players know when you believe in them and the team. GO VOLS -- I BELIEVE IN U!!!!

What does tbow in the pros have to do with RF in HS???

That was the most recent person I could think the "he just wins" crap was used on. Actually imo high school to college is harder than going from college to pros. Just because a guy wins in high school dont mean Jack sh;t in college. Same as in the pros.

Im not saying Riley is worse than Dobbs, im just saying the only thing people keep saying about RF is "all he knows how to do is win" his dad even said this morning that he has had trouble learning all the plays and his size is holding him back a little. Yes he has a cannon but so does Dobbs. It just urks me that's all.

From what I've heard Ferguson is really good in practice. Dobbs is far better in front of a crowd not saying he is bad a practice but I believe Ferguson is a practice all american. Dobbs can make all the throws and brings speed on the field.

I agree ...Dobbs has killed it in the 1st three games, he thrives in a college atmosphere. (Sarcasm)

I'd like Tennessee to run a two platoon system until CBJ finds out who is the best on the field.

This. Start Peterman sub in Ferguson/Dobbs, whoever wins it in practice, and see what the best product is. They can practice till their blue in the face but we don't know what we have till they play in live situations. We all know Worley aint it so lets see what the youngins got.

I'm still not sold that Worley is not "it." It is his first year as a starter. Not exactly the production I was expecting yet, but its still possible he could get better and more productive.

That may be the case. But he can get better from the bench cause he's not just bad he's awful. Maybe starting Peterman over him will light a fire under his ass, proly make him want quit or transfer, but we cannot win a game if the ball never gets to the receivers. That I can promise you.

It wouldn't shock me if Worley transferred to somewhere like East Tennessee State or UNC-Charlotte if He loses the starting qb spot.

I keep reading where some assume that if Coach Jones goes with one if the Freshman quarterbacks, it will no doubt be Ferguson. I maybe wrong, but I thought that I read where Dobbs played better during the Soring game. Just looking for insight from some that may had rationale behind these speculations.

I like Dobbs as many here do. But Ferg the Iceberg, if he has a Bray-like arm and accuracy, plus move when necessary, the choice would be too obvious.

I thought I read where Dobbs was faster, stronger arm and got rid if the ball quicker. Now having said that, if he is not accurate, all these thing mean nothing.

They both need to hit the weight room a loud fart would knock either one of them off there feet.:eek:hmy:

Without being at practice I say Peterman>Ferguson/Dobbs>Worley. Trust the coaches to make the right choice. If they are wrong vol nation will be eager to crucify.

Very small chance Worley is the right choice so try somebody else. Eventually we find the right guy so we can run the table after bama and get to a bowl. Go Vols!!!!

Ferge-
Pros-great leader, strong arm, Winner,
Cons- 179LBS- could be broken in half, no experience

Dobbs-
Pros-WOW- watch his senior year video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9KGlVgspFois
Great upside, good arm, good runner
Cons-soft spoken, Freshman, no experience

WOW is right. I can't believe I just watched all of it. No wonder he gave our 1st team defense fits when he impersonated Oregon's QB. Dobbs may be soft-spoken but he definitely commanded his team there. 'Athletic' may be an understatement. If he can do that at the college level consistently then yes, please!

One thing I noticed watching the AP game that was interesting... when they showed Worley on the sidelines after a touchdown Peterman and Dobbs were right there talking with him and all three were interacting. Dobbs was talking and laughing with them like he'd known everyone for ages. Ferguson didn't really interact but it's not like they showed the sideline all game either so I wouldn't read much into his behavior. But I think it may be safe to say that Dobbs may be soft spoken when he meets people or the press for the first time but it looks like he's very outgoing with his teammates.

TBH, I like Dobbs a lot but I also like what I've heard and seen about Ferguson. They both are solid freshman with different skillsets. If we're going to play one over Worley or Peterman then my biggest question is which one is ready? Dobbs has a slight time advantage over Ferguson but has that been erased by now? Do they know the playbook well enough? Will they crack under pressure?

I wish we could play them both just to see and then get to decide. Ultimately though, whoever plays among our 4 QBs I'm behind them.

Coach wants to run the read option, Dobbs has the best skill set to run it. Fergie has a strong arm but only weighs 165 lbs soaking wet. Dobbs at 195 can take more punishment.

Ferguson's father said yesterday in an interview that Fergie is up to 185 lbs. now.

So what's happened to Peterman? We haven't had the chance to see him really get his feet wet in a game.

We may see him Saturday. Something tells me CBJ is practically begging for Peterman to step up this week and win this job so he doesn't have to burn a redshirt in the Swamp.
