Ferguson's arm strength

Give me a mobile, pass first QB over any of the other types everyday. They take fewer hard hits that can lead to injury and the threat of being able to run, versus actually doing it often keeps defenses more honest. So there are 3 of the 4 scholly QB's that qualify IMO. Until/if one can prove he is the man, give me Worley. His experience and arm will be the stabilizing force the O needs to move the ball.

Which is the point. It is all speculation with regards to any of the three at this point. The coaches will figure it out.

These ppl will meltdown whenever they hear any report of Fergs doing anything better than Dobbs. Dobbs has been tabbed by VN as an all time UT great already.

Yea, someone actually compared him to Peyton Fn Manning and said, he will be the next great legend since Manning and is smarter than him.

How could you even know that? Sometimes summer is too long.

Get out of the sun before you bake the rest of your brain to match the half that thinks that argument holds water.

I digress, it's too early. My apologies to the aforementioned idiot.

Ferguson has already done more the Crompton every did.

I liked CrompDaddy. He was a product of a bad system. Kiffen turned him around.

I mean, he did get picked in the 5th round. And 4 NFL teams took a chance on him. Ferguson, if I remember correctly, has not been to the NFL, yet...

When's your next tryout?

Again, I apologize. No more comments until I finish my coffee. I read this, and I sound like a D

Every thing I've heard or read is that the job is Worleys to lose and the one who has a chance to over take him is Ferguson not Dobbs.

Im kinda, sorta worried about having so many QB,s. Doesn't that lead to a lack of continuity and stability with the offense. It's not like we have 2 QB,s fighting for the same job we have a pack of them. I hope one of them steps up quick and gets the job. Or is this normal and won't matter?
No, you need 3-4 QBs on the roster. In the end one will win the starting job. I guess we've been depleted for so long that people have forgotten what it's like to have depth.

it is funny how these guys have not even thrown in D1 pads, yet ppl are making thier minds up about them.
Both were similarly rated, similar offer sheets coming out of HS. Not sure why everyone has to say one is better than the other instead of just being patient.
We have had PLENTY of QB competitions on campus not sure why this one is any different not to mention it hasnt even started yet.

Ferguson doesn't have any pictures with Peyton Manning yet like Dobbs does, therefore Dobbs is better...

BTW Crompton beat Georgia. That's more than Bray ever did.

Ferguson is the guy who has only lost two games in his career right? Ill take a winner with less impressive stats all day long. Just look at our last qb.

Both are mobile and can escape pressure..

People try to make Dobbs out to be a duel-threat and he isn't.

Not sure where you don't think that dobbs isn't a duel-threat QB. He has been clocked by UT with a 4.6 40, which is faster than most of our secondary.

With this type of speed I would say he would be fairly effective outside the pocket if had to scramble. With this O-line however hopefully he won't have to do that too often. JMO.

I was reading somewhere that someone was saying at UT's camp or practices so far Ferguson has a stronger arm and quicker release than Dobbs....but when i watch both of their clips i am not seeing it....anyone know for sure?

They are in camp practicing already? I didn't know that.

I think people are selling Worley short. He's gonna be the starter. People are putting too much stock in the O/W game where he didn't have Jason Croom or Marquez North to throw too. He also didn't have Tiny guarding his blindside.

What about any time he has actually played? He has looked pretty bad. You can tell a player who has talent. You could see it in Bray as a true freshman. Worley not so much. He looks like a place holder/clipboard holder.

A lot of idle, summer speculation. High school video highlights are helpful but can be misleading--half the top prospects with great highlight reels bust at the major-college level. In the end the coaches will decide--duh.
