Ferguson's arm strength

Like all VN threads, this one contains lots of bizarre leaps. When a thread like this is started in good faith, it's understood that what will follows is speculation based on limited knowledge. The vast majority of posters understand that and post accordingly. Some, however, say things like, "How can you KNOW..." It's a rare bird who thinks they KNOW which of the quarterbacks who have yet to see action in an actual football game for a major college will eventually be the best, but we offer opinions based on limited observations. It's what a forum is all about. If you just want facts, this isn't the place for you.
Another for instance: "All of VN has anointed Dobbs as the next great Vol QB." Well...no they (we) haven't. Read what folks actually have said. You'll find that most folk have said very clearly that they are fine with whoever does the job best. Based on what little we know, it seems (and I do mean seems) that more of us think that Dobbs could be the one (and that it most likely won't be this year). I'm one of the ones who thinks that; but I'm impressed with Ferguson's resume as well. And I still have hopes that Peterman will find a comfort zone and be the guy this year.

I think people are selling Worley short. He's gonna be the starter. People are putting too much stock in the O/W game where he didn't have Jason Croom or Marquez North to throw too. He also didn't have Tiny guarding his blindside.

you are right. he didnt have Tiny,Croom,Carter,North,Downs, or any of the new TEs.he wil be alright.

Yea, someone actually compared him to Peyton Fn Manning and said, he will be the next great legend since Manning and is smarter than him.

How could you even know that? Sometimes summer is too long.

Get out of the sun before you bake the rest of your brain to match the half that thinks that argument holds water.

I digress, it's too early. My apologies to the aforementioned idiot.

riiiight, jake tate.

what are you talking about? what argument? i was just referring to the obsession to Dobbs. I have no doubt hes talented but ppl on here are a little quick to nab him as the guy when hes never done anything. just sit back and let it play out.

If you watch his HS film, and all his camp film and read all the "experts" evaluations you can see the comparisons to Crompton when Crompton was in highschool. I watched him play last year as well as North.. Just watching him play he has a rocket arm but would almost always throw to his #1 Receiver or the play call WR and he would never check down. He would throw balls into triple and double coverage often. Has the tools but the football knowledge is what he is lacking at this point. He will be ready later in his career.. HOPE im wrong..

Any reason why you'd say that? He could also be the next Clausen if you look at it optomistically or maybe even the next Tee Martin if you speculate without skin color being involved.

Please elaborate ...would that be Rick or Casey ?

Ferguson will be a starter at UT sooner than later IMO..I base this only on what I've seen from his attitude, and what I've seen of him on the field. I like him (no homo)
