Well said. Entertaining though reading about how important those "star" rankings are. I'm sure the coaches are disappointed if they don't get #1. :crazy:

I think we end up with the 2nd or 3rd rated class. Cullen and Green are both 6.0 4* with Green, Miller, and especially Ambles having a chance for a 5th. Like MHF said though, we're gonna need one of those 5* RB's but if anyone can pull it off, its this staff

The reality is that this will be a great, not good class. The reality also is we are still chasing a team whose HC is a heart attack waiting to happen and who just lost perhaps the greatest college QB of all time. They are coming off of 2 of the last 4 NCs. We also will probably finish behind a team who just won the NC. That is a team we almost beat this year, with maybe 60% of their talent. The gap is closing. This class brings us alot closer to where we need to be.

how bout we stop worrying about beating florida out of the numb. 1 spot on recruiting trail, take the GOOD players weve got plus a couple additions develope them then come out a kick Florida's A$$ on the field next year.. im pretty sure you dont get a trophy for the #1 class and it all comes down to development anyway so lets focus on the important things like the basketball team beating Kansas 2marow!!!!!!

No they would not fill out their class because they are only chasing the very best left and could miss on them and they do not need to take back ups.

TN HAS to take lots of OL this year. Florida and Alabama are deep at almost every position. I said it is very unlikely, but UF could end up with 25 in the class instead of 27.

We are not going to get Jones out of Florida. The new DC is specifically a LB coach and will be very high on Jones if he misses out of Hicks.

Christian Jones if he is not at UT will be Seminole I am almost certain. Our coaching staff can show him what they can do with Reveiz and then what Florida has done with super LBs who never turned into AA at UF.

Also why cant we take 7 OL prospects and finally all that work put into Dixon and then a week later we let him go? Sorry I wouldn't buy it especially when he saw first hand what a brandon james player can do.

? Blake Sims or M Dixon? Which would we rather have in that role? We supposedly had a lot into the recruitment of Ken Adams and Menzie and Jose Jose and M Pair. Some of them we wanted to lose, some we did not. We will not end up with all of the guys currently in our class on NSD.

We finish out with Arie, Cullen and Stone. Agree on Robey and Quarles but the LB we get is Shirley.

BY the way on DL, can anyone beat a 6 player front (ever??) of Powell, Easley, Floyd, Trail, Orr, and Ball. Powell, Floyd and Easley could easily all be top 10 and if they end up with Henderson, I may just drink into a stuper and wake up POST-NSD with a bad headache and another 3-4 years of 2nd best.

Florida does seem to have the best DL I have seen in my memory of CFB recruiting.

If TN drops Pair and adds Chaz, Cullen, T Wilson and Arie K we will have the best OL class in the country. Should be an epic and beautiful battle.

Got to give it to UF, coaches leaving left and right, head coach is purely a limbo, who knows what will trueely happen and they land a ton of talent.

I actually enjoyed this post...we don't have a shot at number 1 at this point, IMO, but I like the logic you laid down by scholarship number.

We do not need the number 1 class people......We have the best coaching staff in the country....that is way more important than how many stars some 17 year old has....all we need is an annual Top 10 class and our good staff and they will deliver....don't worry about being number 1 in recruiting......Look at GA, they top 5 every year and what have they won?....its all about the staff.....we are going to be just fine.....our staff and top 10 = #1...easily....

This is dumb. With a kicker of Palardy's caliber, we beat Bama this year. Hence no NC for them and I like the season that much more...

Come on now, surely you have to see that we HAVE to have a kicking game?

Put him on scholly and let him kick if for 3 from our 45....

Maybe a stretch. A one-loss SEC team who kills the gators in the SECCG will always make the NCG.

I agree and that is part of my point...we need top 10 and our staff will finish it...we went to Al and FL with Fulmer's stuff and went toe to toe with the 2 best teams in the country...imagine what will we do with the depth that Kiff is creating...

AL still makes it to Pasadena if we make the kick or not....LSU made it with 2 losses....

Spot on. This staff will earn its paycheck over the next two years. It will be fun to watch. The defense should be ridiculously good over the next few years, when you combine Monte and O with the players that they want.

We dont need the #1 class what we need is OL help which is very obvious from the CFB! This class is about filling needs and it would be good to have 5* athletes at every position but we need lineman and you are not going to get a # 1 ranking by recruiting lineman.
