Final Mock Class, and Path to #1

This is dumb. With a kicker of Palardy's caliber, we beat Bama this year. Hence no NC for them and I like the season that much more...

Come on now, surely you have to see that we HAVE to have a kicking game?

Put him on scholly and let him kick if for 3 from our 45....

as far as I know, he is one of the only people I listed with a shot at an academic scholarship. I am not sure why that part was unclear.

Florida is still in it for a lot of good players, so Florida would have to not get ANYONE else, AT ALL, for Tennessee to have a shot.

give up on prater for now-

USC's loss won't likely benefit the Vols, who recruited Prater and were thought to be in good shape before he committed to the Trojans.

"No, not at all," Prater said when asked if the Vols were close to USC before he declared.

We shall see.

i'd be shocked if we dropped pair. the coaches love him. they see things we don't, esp when we just look at stars.

There is NO WAY Copeland looks elsewhwere we need him at DT and he will be a monster. The staff is supposed to be high on Ralph Williams and we need LB's BAD so he won't go anywhere. Pair I can see going though. O yea, Dixon from Georgia will not go anywhere either. He has speed and will help tremendously in ST's.

I understand that they love his potential but with all the OL we are getting, he is the biggest project. He could end up being great, but not for a while. That being said, we need some more playmakers now. If we are going after Prater Quarles, etc.. and we need to make room for one of them, Pair will most likely be the first one that is asked to look elsewhere.

Regardless of the #1 spot, if we finish strong we'll have back to back top ten classes for the first time in years, perhaps this decade? The past several years have been very inconsistent year to year and the highly ranked classes have turned out to be something much less in reality, thus our record is a fair reflection of our relative talent/depth.

I don't have time to read all of that...I will assume you made some good points

You'd be better off by runnning down your hallway at full speed and try to ram your head through your front door than trying to read MHF's Gibberish and Prognostications.

If you ever wonder why my posts are trolled by the guy above consistently, you can look to his failed bet with me or the gem of an argument when his signature was created.

I am liking more and more a class of 30 where Demar Dorsey is one of 3 guys we sign and place.

No one trolls your garbage.

Just don't ever forget MHF that no one, and I mean NO ONE has less credibility on this site as you.

I disagree. I am sure you would like that to be the case, but I much prefer MHF's attempts to just talk sports, than your Hatvol wannabe sarcasm (Not that you are the only one). Can we just agree to disagree, and just talk more sports on these sports forums?

Uhhh wasn't the 2007 class top ten?

Florida is still in it for a lot of good players, so Florida would have to not get ANYONE else, AT ALL, for Tennessee to have a shot.

Of course all these predictions are based on a set of assumptions. One the primary assumptions I think we are making is that UF will continue to add good players.

I still have trouble believing their class has gotten better, instead of much worse. There is still over three weeks until NSD. I still believe that the wheels could come off for them. Then, pandemonium would reign.

That still has to be a very unstable situation for the recruits. Am I wrong?

That may be the case (i.e. academic scholly), but the kid deserves a football scholarship. I'd take him (and hence a kicking game and all that entails - touchbacks, 25+ yard field goals, etc) before replacing him with another "athlete" or just about any other position. The kid deserves a football scholarship and he'll prove his worth over the coming seasons.

I'm not as worried about "stars" as most people. I think we get good caliber athletes and our coaching staff will do the rest. Look what they did this year with the kids they had. I think they did a great job.

Having a "#1 class" is just crap to rag opposing fans about. There's very little difference in the top ten classes and even less between the top five. We meet our needs (OL for example) and we'll be fine.

Dude quit sucking off Hatvol so much and get a life. Some people enjoy MHF's posts. No one's making you read it, so if you don't have something to add, don't click on the thread. Its that simple.

Back on topic, If we get Prater who is #2 in the nation overall, that would go a long ways in getting the #1 class. The more I read about Prater, the more I like our chances with him. Maybe he can sway the 5* USC RB as well. I don't think its impossible.

I'm also pissed we took Sims (QB), I think its a waste of a scholarship and it marks the first time I've disagreed with CLK's analysis

Unless something comes out about Urban Meyer before National signing day, I believe that the addition of 3 five star players and the domination by Florida committs at the UA game have really built a lot of momentum heading into national signing day.

The thing about recruiting is, HS players WANT to be in good classes. People like Jeffcoat, for example, might say, "Hey, I like Texas best, but man it would be awesome to line up opposite of Ronald Powell because it would make my life a lot easier..."

I'm not saying UF lands Jeffcoat, because they probably won't, but the point is, success in recruiting brings MORE success in recruiting.
