Finebaum hit the nail on the head.....

The one in Nashville is not going to be as easy as some people think. I know Bama is down a little, but Vandy put up 40 on them. And Vandy should of beat Missouri.
That offense was legit all game. That was not a fluke 40 w 4 turnovers and a couple broken plays. Vandy had them off balance the entire game. They neutralized Alabama's superior talent.

"they don't travel well"South Carolina 2 years ago,Florida last year.Hard to argue.
Newsflash… it’s the SEC. Nobody not named UGA or Alabama mows down their road schedule every year.

And in fact, UGA and Alabama have both lost on the road in the last 2 weeks.

A lot around here won't want to hear this. But, it's excellent perspective.

This unfortunately is true. And something Heupel hopefully gets figured out. This game looked way too much like the Gainesville stinker from last season.
It has to be 11am road game. Like at LSU. And defense travels.

It’s just another over simplified hot take that Finebaum specializes in. Nevermind that Heupel has also won in places Norman and Baton Rouge and has lost at home to Mizzou and Kentucky. It’s just a laughably lazy take.

I think he means not travelling well equates to not being locked in. They are not locked in and weren't in the games mentioned. The mindset and mentality should be the same regardless the environment. So, it goes back to the mental reps and preparation through the week. You still must have the hungry mindset and not we've made it mindset. This is contagious and will breed complacency.

Another big item they are missing is the scale of the atmospheres. LSU's crowd was never really in that game. Missouri and UK in the same boat.

Arkansas this year, Florida last year, South Carolina 2 years ago had very raucous crowds that were very much into the game and loud. We struggle with crowd noise. A lot of teams do though... this isn't just a Tennessee/Heupel thing.

OU fans were down on their team like Tennessee fans are now. That is what scares me the most. If our crowd comes out like 2022 Alabama, I think Tennessee wins this game big.
It's hard to win on the road in the SEC. And the transfer portal will makes us have more competitive games.

From what I saw Saturday, we could "possibly" lose to Ky, and Ga. I think we will beat Alabama and Vanderbilt. That Arkansas game was a playoff killer.

LSU fumbled right away and Tennessee scored. Crowd was out of the game, noon game, lack of hostility, etc.

When faced with a truly hostile crowd, we tend to be folding on the road. It is a trend. Can we over come it? Sure. However, Finebaum is spot on.
How did we beat Oklahoma in Norman?

The frustrating part to me was our offense not being able to adjust to Arky's defense for the entire 1st half and that is where we lost the game imo. If we would have had at least one FG during the first half, then the odds of winning that game probably change in our favor.
We did some adjusting. We came out and scored our first two drives of the 2nd half

Who says "methinks" ?

I'm not saying the losses "don't count," and they are frustrating. It's over-simplifying to just make it an issue of being on the road. Every team is different. Finebaum is very lazy with any type of analysis.

Who says greensward? John Ward.

The inexplicable losses the last 3 or 4 years have been on the road. South Carolina, Florida, Missouri, Arkansas.

If we don't I'm gonna act like 90% of this board has after Arkansas so they all see what they looked like.

I’ll attempt to play you so we can all gain some self reflection.. But I’m going to the game, so I’ll either be too tired to fight or too happy to care. 🤔

No one travels well in the SEC outside of Sabans Bama and Georgia. It’s hard.
